Peran masyarakat dalam pengelolaan sampah plastik merupakan upaya yang tidak terbatas dalam hal mengelola sampah yang dihasilkan, melainkan juga upaya untuk menurunkan frekuensi pemakaian plastik sekali pakai, memilah sampah plastik sebelum dibuang, termasuk menjadikan sampah plastik bernilai ekonomis. Peneitian ini bertujuan menganalisis peran masyarakat dalam upaya pengelolaan sampah plastik di Provinsi DKI Jakarta, Tahun 2022. Desain studi yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif (cross sectional) dengan jumlah sampel 198 responden dan kualitatif dengan wawancara mendalam sebanyak 6 informan kepada ketua RT/RW, pengelola Bank Sampah Induk dan perwakilan Dinas Lingkungan Hidup Provinsi DKI Jakarta. Peran Masyarakat dalam Upaya Pengelolaan Sampah Plastik di Provinsi DKI Jakarta masih rendah berkisar 21,2%. Hal ini berkaitan dengan tidak melakukan pemilahan sampah (62,1 %), tidak melakukan mendaur ulang atau membuat kerajinan tangan dari sampah (87,4%) dan tidak Mengirim sampah ke bank sampah (75,3%). Hasil Uji statistik menunjukkan adanya hubungan signifikan antara jenis kelamin dan pengetahuan terhadap peran masyarakat dalam pengelolaan sampah. Pengetahuan menjadi variabel dominan yang berpengaruh dan usia, petugas sampah serta kendaraan pengangkut sampah menjadi variabel confounder terhadap peran masyarakat. Hasil wawancara mendalam beberapa informan mendapatkan hasil bahwa kepedulian masyarakat masih rendah dalam hal pengelolaan sampah plastik, kurang dukungan dari lintas sektor, sarana prasarana masih kurang memadai serta perlunya adanya monitoring dan evaluasi terkait pengelolaan sampah plastik. Kesimpulan mendapatkan bahwa peran masyarakat masih rendah dalam pengelolaan sampah plastik, pada faktor predisposisi didapatkan lebih banyak usia produktif, jenis kelamin perempuan, penghasilan tinggi, pengetahuan tinggi dan sikap mendukung. Pada faktor penguat didapatkan bahwa dukungan keluarga dan dukungan RT/RW masih rendah. Sarana prasarana seperti bank sampah sudah tersedia, tempat sampah pilah belum tersedia, petugas dan kendaraan pengangkut sampah sudah tersedia. The role of the community in plastic waste management is an effort that is not limited in terms of managing the waste produced, but also an effort to reduce the frequency of single-use plastic use, sorting plastic waste before disposal, including making plastic waste economically valuable. This research aims to analyze the role of the community in efforts to manage plastic waste in Province DKI Jakarta, 2022. The study design used was quantitative (cross sectional) with a sample of 198 respondents and qualitative with in-depth interviews of 6 informants to the head of RT/RW, the manager of the Main Waste Bank and representatives of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Environmental Service. The role of the community in the effort to manage plastic waste in DKI Jakarta is still low at around 21.2%. This is related to not sorting waste (62.1%), not recycling or making handicrafts from waste (87.4%) and not sending waste to the waste bank (75.3%). The results of the statistical test showed a significant relationship between gender and knowledge of the community's role in waste management. Knowledge becomes the dominant variable that influences and age, garbage officers and waste transport vehicles become confounding variables on the role of the community. The results of in-depth interviews with several informants found that public awareness was still low in terms of plastic waste management, lack of support from across sectors, inadequate infrastructure and the need for monitoring and evaluation related to plastic waste management. The conclusion is that the community's role is still low in the management of plastic waste, on the predisposing factors it is found that more productive age, female gender, high income, high knowledge and supportive attitude. On the reinforcing factor, it was found that family support and RT/RW support were still low. Infrastructure facilities such as waste banks are already available, segregated garbage bins are not yet available, officers and waste transport vehicles are available.
