Analisis data menggunakan Generalized Estimating Equations (GEE) dan Difference in Difference (DiD).
Background: Adolescents in Aceh face challenges related to risky behaviors such as drug abuse, smoking, premarital sexual activity, teenage pregnancy, and exposure to HIV/AIDS, which impact their health, social well-being, and the quality of human resources. Low levels of knowledge and resilience among adolescents, as well as the limitations of existing programs, pose serious challenges. On the other hand, Aceh possesses social and religious strengths through the role of Teungku Inong and the Seumeubeut tradition as educational spaces close to adolescents, yet these have not been optimally utilized as an approach to adolescent health education. This study aims to develop a community-based reproductive health and life skills education model through the role of Teungku Inong and Seumeubeut practices in preventing risky health behaviors among adolescents in Aceh Province. Methods: This study employs a mixed-methods exploratory sequential design in three phases: phenomenological qualitative analysis, development of a community-based educational model, and quasi-experimental quantitative analysis. The study was conducted in Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province, from October 2024 to November 2025, with a sample of 62 Teungku Inong in the intervention group and 61 in the control group, as well as 186 adolescents. Data analysis utilized Generalized Estimating Equations (GEE) and Difference-in-Differences (DiD). Results: Teungku Inong possess strong moral and social legitimacy as social mediators within the community; however, they require capacity building regarding reproductive health and life skills . The Integrated Seumeubeut Model developed integrates reproductive health education, psychosocial life skills , as well as Islamic values and Acehnese culture into a community study group format. GEE analysis revealed that the interaction term in Post-test 1 increased role scores by β = 3.465 (95% CI: 1.711–5.218; p < 0.001) and by β = 2.578 (95% CI: 0.458–4.697; p = 0.01) in Post-test 2. Results of the DiD analysis showed an increase in role scores in the intervention group compared to the control group with a coefficient of 15.19 (p < 0.001). The model intervention contributed to a 44% increase in role scores at the first post-test (1 month) and a 49% increase at the second post-test (2 months post-intervention). Conclusions and recommendations: The Integrated Seumeubeut Model was proven to significantly enhance the role of Teungku Inong as agents of change while strengthening protective factors for adolescents against risky behaviors. The Integrated Seumeubeut Model can be recommended as a community-based, contextually relevant, practical, and potentially sustainable promotive-preventive approach within the adolescent protection system in Aceh.
