Abstrak
Ultra-processed food atau UPF adalah produk pangan yang telah melalui serangkaian teknik dan proses industri. 38% dari total energi harian anak usia prasekolah berasal dari produk UPF. Konsumsi UPF secara berlebihan diketahui dapat meningkatkan risiko berat badan lebih dan obesitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan konsumsi UPF pada anak usia 3–6 tahun di Kecamatan Cinere, Kota Depok tahun 2026. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi cross-sectional dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 150. Pengambilan data dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner online yang diisi secara mandiri. Data yang diperoleh akan dianalisis secara univariat dan bivariat (chi-square). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 49,3% anak dilaporkan mengonsumsi UPF tingkat tinggi. Hasil analisis bivariat menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara status pendidikan orang tua, status pekerjaan ibu, pengetahuan UPF orang tua, penggunaan UPF sebagai regulasi emosi, praktik modeling, praktik pengawasan, dan praktik pembatasan UPF oleh orang tua dengan tingkat konsumsi UPF anak. Modeling, pengawasan, dan pembatasan upf untuk kesehatan oleh orang tua bersifat protektif terhadap konsumsi UPF anak prasekolah, sementara pemberian makan berbasis regulasi emosi dan ibu tidak bekerja merupakan faktor risiko. Intervensi sebaiknya mempromosikan praktik pemberian makan adaptif, bukan hanya peningkatan pengetahuan. Orang tua dapat secara konsisten memberikan contoh makan sehat, aktif memantau asupan anak, dan membatasi akses terhadap UPF tanpa menggunakan makanan sebagai regulasi emosi anak. Program edukasi gizi perlu dikembangkan dengan fokus pada keterampilan praktis seperti membaca label pangan dan strategi pengaturan makan di rumah.

Ultra-processed foods (UPF) are food products that have undergone a series of industrial techniques and processes. UPF accounts for 38% of total daily energy intake among preschool children in Indonesia. Excessive UPF consumption is known to increase the risk of overweight and obesity. This study aimed to identify factors associated with UPF consumption in children aged 3-6 years in Cinere District, Depok City, in 2026. A cross-sectional design was used with a sample size of 150 participants. Data were collected using a self-administered online questionnaire. Data were analyzed using a univariate and bivariate (chi-square) method. The result showed that 49,3% of children were reported to have high levels of UPF consumption. Bivariate analysis revealed significant associations between parents' education level, maternal employment status, parental UPF knowledge, UPF as emotion regulation, parental modeling practices, monitoring practices, and restriction of UPF for health and children’s UPF consumption levels. Parental modeling, monitoring, and restriction for health were protective against preschool children’s UPF consumption, while emotion regulation feeding and non-working mothers were risk factors. Interventions should promote adaptive feeding practices rather than solely increasing knowledge. Parents are advised to consistently model healthy eating during meals, actively monitor children’s intake, and restrict access to UPF without using food as a soothing tool. Health institutions need to develop nutrition education programs that focus on practical skills, such as reading food labels and implementing household food management strategies.
