Unmet need for family planning (FP) remains a major reproductive health challenge in Indonesia because it contributes to unintended pregnancies, maternal mortality, and various adverse health outcomes. This issue is particularly pronounced among married Generation Z women of reproductive age (WRA) due to limited access to information and concerns about contraceptive side effects. This study aimed to describe the prevalence of unmet need for family planning and to analyze factors associated with unmet need for family planning among married Generation Z women of reproductive age in Depok City. This study employed a cross-sectional design using primary data collected in April 2026. A total of 135 married Generation Z women of reproductive age (15–27 years) were selected using a mixed sampling design, consisting of purposive selection of subdistricts followed by multistage cluster random sampling. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses. The bivariate analysis employed the Chi-square test or Fisher's Exact Test with a 95% confidence level. The results showed that the prevalence of unmet need for family planning was 27.4%, which was higher than the prevalence reported in the 2017 Indonesia Demographic and Health Survey (IDHS) among married young women (9.3%), the national prevalence in 2023 (11.5%), and the 2025–2029 Strategic Plan target of the Ministry of Population and Family Development/National Population and Family Planning Board (10.0%). Unmet need was predominantly attributed to the need for birth spacing (17.0%). Among all variables examined, only exposure to family planning information provided by health workers was significantly associated with unmet need for family planning (p-value=0.041). In contrast, age, employment status, educational level, economic status, number of living children, ideal number of children, and exposure to mass media were not significantly associated with unmet need for family planning. In conclusion, the prevalence of unmet need for family planning among Generation Z women of reproductive age in Depok City remains high and is predominantly related to the need for birth spacing. Strengthening family planning communication and education, improving the quality of contraceptive counseling provided by health workers, promoting Long-Acting Reversible Contraceptive Methods (LARCs), and developing an integrated family planning information system should be optimized to reduce unmet need for family planning among Generation Z
