Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is a viral infection transmitted through the bites of Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes. In Beji Subdistrict, Depok City, DHF cases have shown a high trend over the past few years. In 2022, this area recorded the highest number of cases in Depok City, with a total of 177 cases and an incidence rate (IR) of 370,73 per 100.000 population. Initial analysis indicates that household environmental factors and suboptimal community participation in mosquito nest eradication may contribute to the high number of DHF cases in Beji Subdistrict. This study aims to identify the influence of household environmental conditions and mosquito nest eradication practices on the incidence of DHF in Beji Subdistrict in 2024. The research was conducted in Beji Subdistrict, Depok City, from May to June 2024 using a case-control study design. The sample consisted of 35 cases and 35 controls. Case samples were selected using simple random sampling from DHF case reports recorded at Depok Utara Public Health Center, while control samples were selected from the nearest neighbors of the case households. The instruments used in this study included DHF case reports from Depok Utara Public Health Center, questionnaires, and observation sheets for mosquito larvae presence. Data analysis included univariate and bivariate analysis (Chi-Square test). Bivariate analysis showed that the variables associated with the incidence of DHF in this study were the presence of larvae (p-value = 0,026 ; OR = 4,58), container index (CI) (p-value = 0,014 ; OR = 7,56), clean water source (p-value = 0,036 ; OR = 0,205), and the habit of hanging dirty clothes (p-value = 0,046 ; OR = 0,31). Depok Utara Public Health Center and the Depok City Health Office are advised to enhance education and counseling efforts regarding effective mosquito nest eradication practices in the community and to intensify the “1 House 1 Jumantik” movement. The community in Beji Subdistrict should also increase active participation in the “1 House 1 Jumantik” movement, improve awareness and discipline in implementing mosquito nest eradication practices, and avoid habits that can increase the risk of DHF.
