This study analyzes the risk of exposure to PM2.5 on the incidence of acute respiratory infections (ARIs) in the area around the iron sand mine in Korleko Selatan Village, Labuhan Haji Subdistrict, East Lombok Regency, in 2025. Environmental Health Risk Analysis (EHRA) was used to calculate the non-carcinogenic risk due to PM2.5 exposure. The study's results indicate that the ambient air's average PM2.5 concentration around the mining area is 64 μg/m³, which exceeds the air quality standard. The predominantly young local community has a smoking habit (43.3%), and most do not use masks (90%), which increases the risk of exposure. Based on PM2.5 intake calculations in real time and over a lifetime, noncarcinogenic risks (RQ > 1) were found among the local community around the mining area. These results suggest that PM2.5 exposure may lead to health issues, particularly respiratory tract infections (RTIs). The study recommends stricter monitoring of illegal mining activities and efforts to prevent air pollution, such as promoting mask usage, to reduce health risks for the community.
