Abstrak:
Disinfektan adalah agen kimia yang bersifat merusak atau menghambat pertumbuhan organisme mikrobiologi patogenik pada fase vegetatif (bakteri, jamur) atau nonspora (virus). Meningkatnya kejadian kasus Covid-19, menyebabkan penggunaan disinfektan kimia meningkat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dampak penggunaan disinfektan kimia terhadap kesehatan manusia dan media lingkungan dan juga mengetahui rekomendasi disinfektan kimia untuk penanganan Covid-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode literature review dalam memperoleh informasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini didapati bahwa sebagian besar disinfektan kimia bersifat iritan terhadap lapisan mukosa, kulit dan mata manusia. Beberapa disinfektan kimia bersifat korosif seperti alkali dan halogen iodium. Adapun efek terhadap kesehatan manusia didapati bahwa pajanan terhadap disinfektan kimia dapat menyebabkan stres oksidatif, gangguan pada saluran pernapasan, hingga gangguan pada fungsi paru-paru. Pada media lingkungan air dan udara, penggunaan disinfektan kimia (senyawa halogen) dapat menyebabkan terbentuknya Disinfection Byproduct (DBP) seperti trihalomethanes (THM) dan haloacetic acids (HAAs). Adapun rekomendasi disinfektan kimia yang dapat digunakan untuk menangani Covid-19 dengan virusnya yaitu SARS-CoV-2 adalah QACs (quaternary ammonium compounds), etanol 62-71%, H2O2 0,5%, atau NaClO 0,1%. Diperlukan penelitian ekperimental secara lebih lanjut menggunakan virus SARS-CoV-2 untuk mengetahui secara pasti disinfektan kimia mana yang paling efektif untuk menangani Covid-19 dengan ramah lingkungan dan aman untuk kesehatan manusia.

The increasing incidence of Covid-19 cases, causes the use of chemical disinfectants to increase. This study aims to determine the impact of the use of chemical disinfectants on human health and environmental media and also to know the recommendations of chemical disinfectants for handling Covid-19. This study uses the literature review method in obtaining information. The results of this study found that most chemical disinfectants are irritant to the mucosal lining, skin and human eyes. Some chemical disinfectants are corrosive such as alkali and halogen iodium. The effects on human health are found that exposure to chemical disinfectants can cause oxidative stress, disorders of the respiratory tract, to disorders of lung function. In water and air environmental media, the use of chemical disinfectants (halogen compounds) can cause the formation of Disinfection Byproducts (DBP) such as trihalomethanes (THM) and haloacetic acids (HAAs). The chemical disinfectant recommendations that can be used to treat Covid-19 with the virus, namely SARS-CoV-2 are QACs (quaternary ammonium compounds), ethanol 62-71%, 0.5% H2O2, or NaClO 0.1%. Further experimental research is needed using the SARS-CoV-2 virus to find out exactly which chemical disinfectants are most effective in dealing with Covid-19 in an friendly and safe way for human health.
