Determining the focus area for malaria elimination is an effort to stop malaria transmission in a specific geographical area. This study aims to analyze the risk factors for malaria transmission in Ternate City, which has been declared a focus area for malaria elimination. The study was a case control, taking all findings of malaria cases from 2020-2022. The study's total sample was 46 cases based on the results of laboratory tests and 92 controls from a survey of patient contacts and laboratory-proven malaria negative. The results showed that most of the cases were import cases (95.7%), male (93.5%), aged <30 years (47.8%), workers (87%), and high school education background (80.4%). Based on risk factors, more cases were found in respondents with a breeding place distance of ≤1.5 km (69.6%), had a habit of being outside the home (67.4%), had a history of traveling to malaria-endemic areas (95.7%), and not use insecticides (56.5%). The risk factors for malaria were male (40.11; 7.11 ? 62.40), history of travel to endemic areas (OR= 13.97; 2.24 ? 27.18), and distance ≤1.5 km from breeding places (OR= 3.48; 1.29 ? 9.38 ). The behavior outside the home played a protective role against malaria (OR = 0.16; 0.04 ? 0.64). There is a need for a thorough evaluation regarding the persistence of malaria local transmission in the study location. Improving the quality of the malaria surveillance system is very important so that it can present complete data according to a standard form and become a consideration for policymaking.
Metabolic syndrome has a large impact on the health condition of workers, this can increase costs incurred by the company and lead to loss of productivity it is necessary to research the risk factors for metabolic syndrome in office workers at PT X which is expected to prevent and control the prevalence of metabolic syndrome in order to reduce risk factor of metabolic syndrome in future. This research was conducted on office workers at PT X with 106 research respondents during February - August 2020 in Jakarta. PT X is an engineering service provider of the Indusrial Automation that has clients in several process industries whose daily activities are sedentary. The design of this research study uses cross sectional method. The aim is to determine the relationship between the dependent variable (individual risk factors and occupational risk factors) with the independent variable Metabolic Syndrome. The results showed that the proportion of metabolic syndrome is 4,97% which the highest metabolic syndrome component was found in high triglycerides 20,4%, low HDL levels is 14,9% and had abdominal obesity is 14,4%. Which had 1 symptom of metabolic syndrome criteria is 25,4% and which had 2 symptoms of metabolic syndrome criteria are 8,3%. Although the analysis found no significant results on the relationship of individual factors and occupation of the metabolic syndrome, but on some individual risk factors such as smoking have a risk of 3,35 times greater than not smoking, and higher education levels 2,44 times higher risk compared to lower education levels.
The complexity of the machinery and equipment manufacturing industry involves various types of production processes, one of which is welding work. Welding is one of the most important industrial processes in joining metal or steel components. Various hazards found in the welding process such as welding metal sparks, welding sparks, welding fumes emissions, and manual handling during work pose risks to occupational safety and health for workers. This study aims to identify and assess occupational safety and health risks in the welding work process in the PT XYZ fabrication area. The hazard and risk identification stage is carried out qualitatively through observation, brainstorming activities, interviews, and reviewing company documents using the Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP Study). After that, a semi-quantitative risk assessment analysis was carried out by assessing the multiplication of probability and severity criteria based on PT XYZ's risk assessment matrix. The results showed that there were 12 stages of the welding work process. Identified 52 hazards with 49 risks from the welding work process. The level of risk obtained includes 23 risks with very high categories, 9 risks with high categories, and 17 risks with moderate categories. Risk assessment involves risk control so that the value of the risk level can be reduced through existing controls and control recommendations provided by researchers.
LBP can caused by Rigger jobs, the purpose of this study to determineergonomic risk factor, level of risk and risk control of LBP. The study design wascross-sectional using REBA (Rapid entire body assessment) method. The result ofthis study shows that the highest risk rate was 'release the hook crane" with 11score.The lowest score was "release the wire sling" with 6 score. This studysuggest to added graded grating basket, long basket, casing buffer, hook cranebuffer, and do appropriate maintenance to this tools. Keywords : Ergonomics, Rigger, LBP, REBA
