Era gobalisasi sebentar lagi akan tiba, dalam bidang K3 era tersebut ditandai dengan penggunaan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi tinggi, dimana hal tersebut dapat berdampak pada efisiensi dan produktivitas kerja, namun disamping itu juga berdampak menambah risiko bahaya dan ragam dari kecelakaan dan penyakit akibat kerja.Salah satu proses dalam industri adalah proses pengelasan, proses ini merupakan proses yang menghasilkan radiasi sinar ultra violet. Radiasi sinar ultra violet ini pada pekerja las dapat menyebabkan adanya keluhan mata akut berupa peradangan selaput mata, selaput bening, dan peradangan pada kelopak mata pada pekerja las atau yang biasa disebut "Welder Flash " atau "Arc Eye".PT. Bukaka Teknik Utama yang proses kerja utamanya adalah pengelasan, dijumpai para pekerja lasnya sering mengalami adanya keluhan mata akut, sehingga hal tersebut yang melatar belakangi penelitian ini. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisa paparan radiasi sinar ultra violet dan faktor-faktor yang signifikan sebagai penyebab keluhan mata akut pada pekerja las dengan menggunakan metode fault tree analysis.Metode fault tree analysis (pohon kegagalan) adalah salah satu metode dalam K3 yang digunakan dalam analisa bahaya secara detil (detailed hazard analysis). Metode ini menggunakan pendekatan top down, di mana starting pointnya adalah adanya kerugian/loss atau konsekuensi yang tidak diinginkan dimana hal ini sebagai "Head Event" atau "Top Event", kemudian diidentifikasi seluruh faktor-faktor kegagalan dan urutan-urutan event-event yang mungkin memiliki kontribusi terhadap "Head Event". Hasil dari identifikasi tersebut baru dianalisa dan dievaluasi sehingga diketahui faktor kegagalan yang paling signifikan sebagai penyebab adanya "Head Event" atau "Top Event" tersebut.Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa dari 54 pekerja las yang diteliti sebanyak 38 orang yang mengalami keluhan mata akut. Hasil tingkat intensitas radiasi efektif menunjukkan nilai yang tinggi yaitu berkisar antara 179 µW/cm2 sampai dengan 2850 µW/cm2. Hasil lama pemaparan perhari berkisar antara 30 sampai dengan 376 menit.Hasil fault tree analysis menunjukkan bahwa paparan tinggi radiasi sinar ultra violet merupakan faktor yang potensial menyebabkan terjadinya keluhan mata akut pekerja las. Paparan tinggi radiasi sinar ultra violet disebabkan oleh adanya tingkat intensitas yang tinggi atau (hubungan OR gate) karena adanya waktu paparan tinggi.Tingkat intensitas yang tinggi disebabkan karena adanya kegagalan mesin las atau (hubungan OR gate) karena kegagalan penggunaan alat pelindung diri mata. Sedangkan waktu paparan tinggi disebabkan adanya kesalahan dalam posisi pengelasan atau (hubungan OR gate) karena volume pekerjaan yang tinggi.Kegagalan mesin las disebabkan oleh rangkaian kegagalan yang pada akhirnya berpangkal pada kegagalan pemeliharaan atau (hubungan OR gate) karena usia mesin yang sudah tua. Sedangkan kegagalan penggunaan alat pelindung diri mata disebabkan oleh rangkaian kegagalan yang pada akhirnya berpangkal pada kegagalan pengawasan.Kesalahan posisi pengelasan disebabkan karena kegagalan pengawasan, sedangkan kegagalan pengaturan jam kerja disebabkan volume pekerjaan tinggi atau karena waktu penyelesaian pekerjaan yang singkat.Kegagalan pemeliharaan dan kegagalan pengawasan merupakan jenis kegagalan yang sering muncul (common mode), sedangkan kegagalan pemeliharaan sendiri secara signifikan disebabkan oleh kegagalan pengawasan .Dengan demikian rangkaian kegagalan mulai dari kegagalan pengawasan, kegagalan pemeliharaan dan rangkaian kegagalan berikutnya sampai kepada paparan tinggi sinar ultra violet atau waktu paparan tinggi dimungkinkan sebagai penyebab adanya keluhan mata akut.
Analysis of Presentation on Radiation of Ultra Violet Light Against Welders of PT Bukaka Teknik Utama, District of Bogor, Year of 2002Era of globalization, that is coming in the near future, is identified by utilization of high technology and science. On one side, such condition gives positive impact on efficiency and working productivity. However, on the other side, it will also give negative impact on increasing of hazard risks as well as of types of occupational accidents and diseases.One of industrial production process is welding that produces radiation of ultra violet light. Radiation of ultra violet light results in acute irritation on cornea and on eyelid of welders that is commonly called as "Welder Flash" or "Arc Eye".This research based on the fact that welders those are working at PT Bukaka Teknik Utama often complains about acute irritation on their eyes. This research is designed to analysis of presentation on radiation of ultra violet light and of significant factors as the causes of acute irritation complained by the welders. In this respect, this research uses "fault tree analysis" method."Fault tree analysis" method is a "detailed hazard analysis", as one of analysis method used in Occupational Safety and Health. This method uses top-down approach, in which the starting point is the occurrence of loss or unexpected consequences that is called as "Head Event" or "Top Event". Next step of this method is identification of all failure factors and sequence of events that may give contribution to "Head Event". Result of identification is then analyzed or evaluated in order to find the most significant failure factor to the mentioned "Head Event" or "Top Event".The research shows that 38 out of 54 sampling welders are suffered from acute eyes irritation. Intensity of effective radiation shows high value that is between 179 µW/cm2 to 2,850 µW/cm2. Length of presentation is between 30 to 376 minutes per day.Fault Tree Analysis proves that high presentation on radiation of ultra violet light is the potential factor causes acute irritation on eyes of welders. The high presentation on ultra violet light is caused by high intensity or (relations of OR gate) as the result of high volume of works.Failure of welding machine is caused by series of failures that ultimately based on failure in maintenance or (relations of OR gate), as caused by old age of the machine. Meanwhile, failure in using self protective for eyes is caused by series of failures that ultimately based on failure in inspection.Failure in welding position is caused by failure in inspection, and failure in regulating working hours is caused by high volume of works or by limited time to finish works.Failures in maintenance and in inspection are types of failures that become common mode. Meanwhile, failure in maintenance alone is significantly caused by failure in inspection.It comes to conclusion that series of failures from failure in inspection, in maintenance and to other following failures up to high presentation on ultra violet light and high time of presentation are identified as possible causes of acute irritation on eyes.
ABSTRAK Bahaya radiasi Ultraviolet-B di tempat kerja yang dihasilkan oleh proses pengelasan merupakan salah satu faktor yang dapat menyebabkan terjadinya gangguan kesehatan dan penyakit akibat kerja pada pekerja PT. Jaya Asiatic Shipayrd Indonesia ? Batam, yang mana dalam proses produksinya melakukan proses pengelasan dalam penyambungan logam mempunyai potensi untuk terjadinya kelelahan mata pekerja las. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat apakah terjadi peningkatan keluhan kelelahan mata sebagai akibat pajanan radiasi Ultraviolet-B pada pekerja las di workshop Hull perusahaan. Faktor yang berhubungan dengan keluhan kelelahan mata yang diteliti adalah tingkat radiasi Ultraviolet-B, serta beberapa faktor yang berkaitan dengan individu yaitu umur, lama paparan dan pemakaian Alat Pelindung Diri. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan disain deskriptif analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional untuk menemukan fakta dengan interpretasi yang tepat dan akurat melukiskan gejala-gejala kelelahan mata pada kelompok atau individu pekerja las. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan mengukur tingkat radiasi Ultraviolet-B memapar pekerja las, serta mendapatkan data umur, lama paparan, dan pemakaian Alat Pelindung Diri melalui kuesioner. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa 90% pekerja las di workshop Hull mengalami keluhan kelelahan mata. Setelah dilakukan analisis data, ternyata keseluruhan pekerja las terpapar dengan tingkat radiasi yang dihasilkan oleh proses pengelasan yang melebihi nilai ambang batas. Analisis hubungan antara faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi keluhan kelelahan mata pekerja ternyata tidak terlihat adanya hubungan. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa dari hasil pengukuran radiasi Ultraviolet-B di workshop Hull melebihi nilai ambang batas yang diperbolehkan berdasarkan PERMENAKERTRANS No. PER.13/MEN/X/2012. Bagi peneliti lain yang ingin melihat faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi keluhan kelelahan mata pekerja las, perlu mempertimbangkan adanya populasi kontrol.

This study aims to determine whether there is an increase in eye fatigue complaints as a result of UV-B radiation exposure to welder in Hull Workshop. Factor associated with complaints of eye fatigue studied is Ultraviolet-B radiation levels, as well as a number of factors relating to the individual, namely age, duration of exposure, and usage of Personal Protective Equipment. The research was done by analytical descriptive design with cross sectional approach to find the facts to the proper interpretation and accurately describe the symptoms of eye fatigue on the individual or group of welder. Data collection was performed by measuring the levels of UV-B radiation exposed welders, as well as getting the data on age, duration of exposure and the use of Personal Protective Equipment through questionnaires. The survey results revealed that 90% of workers in the Hull welding workshop complaint of eye fatigue. After analyzing the data, it turns out that the whole welders were exposed to radiation levels generated by the welding process that exceeds a threshold limit value. Analysis of the relationship between the factors that affect workers' complaints eyes fatigue was not visible. From this study it can be concluded that the measurement of UV-B radiation in Hull workshop exceeds the threshold limit value allowed by PERMENAKERTRANS No. PER.13/MEN/X/2012.
