Prelacteal is anything other breastmilk that given to infants before breastfeeding in the first 3 days of life which can cause failure of exclusive breastfeeding and may increased risk of infection and malnutrition which then will impact on stunting. One in two babies who have been breastfed in Indonesia have been given prelacteal. This study aims to determine the determinants of prelacteal feeding behavior in infants on the island of Sumatra. This study uses data from the 2017 IDHS with a cross sectional study design. The sample of this study was mothers who had babies aged 0-23 months with the inclusion criteria with a sum of 1,224 respondents. The results showed that there were 54.4% of mothers who gave prelacteal. From correlations analysis it was found that maternal age, parity, IMD, and type of delivery were associated with prelacteal feeding to infants (p-value < 0.05). The results of the logistic regression analysis showed that IMD as the dominant factor that causes prelacteal feeding (OR: 6.06) where mothers who are late in giving IMD are 6 times more likely to giving prelacteal to infants after being controlled by weight. birth, ANC, type of delivery, maternal age, parity, and birth attendants.

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem with long-term impacts on health, cognitive development, and productivity. Districts and municipalities in Papua Island continue to show high stunting prevalence rates, exceeding the national average. This study aims to analyze the factors associated with stunting among children aged 6–59 months in 29 districts/municipalities of Papua Island using an ecological study approach. The research utilizes secondary data from the 2023 Indonesia Health Survey (SKI). Data analysis was conducted through univariate, bivariate, and multivariate methods using multiple linear regression. The analyzed variables included maternal and child characteristics, food intake, infectious diseases, childcare practices, healthcare access, environmental conditions, and economic status. Bivariate analysis revealed significant associations between stunting and several factors, such as maternal height <150 cm, education level below senior high school, low dietary diversity, iron tablet consumption <90 tablets, non-exclusive breastfeeding, and unsafe sanitation. However, no statistically significant associations were found in the multivariate analysis. These findings highlight the importance of area-based and multisectoral approaches that take local context into account in planning stunting intervention programs in Papua Island. Stunting is one of the most significant factors inhibiting the development of humanresources. The main objective of the study was to determine the relationship ofsanitation and hygiene with stunting in children aged 0-23 months in Indonesia. This study used a cross-sectional design with a total sample of 9688 children. Thisresearch used data of Riskesdas 2013. Data analysis used regression logistic. Theprevalence of stunting in children aged 0-23 months in Indonesia was 33.3%. Inbivariate analysis, stunting significantly associated with sources of drinking water, use of latrines, sewage management, waste management, wash hands with soap, and open defecation. In multivariate analysis, stunting associated with latrine use(AOR 1.132 95% CI 1.013-1.265) and waste management (AOR 1.191 95% CI1.078-1.316). In addition, other variables associated with stunting are the child'sage, gender, exclusive breastfeeding, birth weight, maternal height and maternaleducation. The conclusion of this study is sanitation and hygiene significantlyassociated with stunting. Therefore, it is necessary to improve intervention ofsanitation and hygiene behavior to prevent stunting. Keywords: stunting, sanitation, hygiene, 0-23 months.
