Air pollution, particularly PM2.5, is a serious issue because these fine particles can penetrate deep into the lung alveoli and enter the bloodstream. Jalan Margonda Raya is one of the areas in Depok City with dense traffic and high economic activity, so it has the potential to produce large amounts of PM2.5 emissions. This study aims to assess the level of risk of PM2.5 exposure to outdoor workers along Jalan Margonda Raya, Depok City. This research was conducted using the Environmental Health Risk Assessment (EHRA) method among 100 outdoor worker respondents. PM2.5 concentrations were measured over one-hour intervals at five different locations, resulting in an average of 166.8 µg/m³, while the 24-hour concentration estimate showed an average value of 88.3 µg/m³ which exceeded the ambient air quality standard. The anthropometric characteristics of the respondents showed a median body weight of 59.6 kg. Worker activity patterns show a median exposure time of 8 hours/day, exposure frequency of 310 days/year, and exposure duration of 6 years. The calculated PM2.5 intake values yield an average of 0.0038 mg/kg/day for the realtime scenario and 0.0158 mg/kg/day for the lifetime scenario. The RQ (Risk Quotient) values are 1.078 (realtime) and 4.382 (lifetime), respectively, indicating that the risk level is in the unsafe category (RQ > 1). Therefore, risk management is needed such as reducing the concentration of PM2.5 exposure to 0.038 mg/m³, reducing the duration of work to 7.6 hours/day, and reducing the frequency of work to 294 days/year.
This thesis discusses the relations between air pollution exposure (PM2,5 and NO2) and Malondialdehyde urinary levels in schollchildren located around the highway in West Jakarta. This study aims to look at the relation between indoor air pollution exposure and urinary MDA levels in school students. The study using a cross sectional study design on April - May of 2019. The results of the study showed that PM2,5 and NO2 concentrations in the room exceeded the specified quality standard. PM2.5 indoor concentration was 86.37 µg / m3, and NO2 indoor concentration was 76.18 µg / m3. MDA urinary levels in students are used to see markers of oxidative stress in a child's body that are associated with air pollution and individual characteristics. There is a relationship with a positive correlation between PM2.5 indoor and p value = 0.016 in schools that are far from the highway. The individual characteristics of the children used to see the relationship with other factors controlling MDA in the urine of the relatives were according to gender, physical activity, smoker in family, vitamins and supplements consumption, and BMI
Estimated air pollution originates from motor vehicle emissions, In Indonesia is 70%.. Meanwhile, the greatest impact of the air is pencemaraan respiratory distress. This research will be conducted on the correlation results of vehicle emissions, air quality and meteorological factors on the incidence of respiratory infections, during 2010. In addition it also conducted a survey of knowledge, attitudes and behavior (KAB) against 311 vehicle owners regarding vehicle emissions testing activities. After analyzing known incidence of ARI in Jakarta is 93 cases/1000 population, with the largest events in the area of Central Jakarta (215 cases/1000 population). While the analysis found in South Jakarta, 23.6% of motor vehicle with year of manufacture 2007 and up, did not pass the emissions test. Meanwhile, the air quality in Central Jakarta has a level of concentration of CO, SO2, O3 and NO2 Keywords: are higher than in other regions. The highest incidence rate of ARI in August 2010 (96.9 cases/1000 population). Similarly, the percentage of vehicles with year of manufacture 2007 and up, which did not pass the emissions test in August 2010 reached its highest point at 50%. This correlation is statistically significant (P=0,0005). It is suggest for vehicles owner to check their vechicle routinely/ doing emissions test, so that its can reduce pollution in Jakarta.
