Abstrak: Based on 2012 IDHS, neonatal mortality rate in Indonesia reached 19/1000 live births. This figure is still far from the SDGs target by 2030, i.e 12/1000 live births. Several studies have shown that government health budget allocations that are influenced by regional income and social determinants of health have a role in reducing neonatal mortality. This study aims to look at the description of regional income, health financing in the APBD, adequacy of health personnel, and social determinants of health and its correlation with neonatal mortality at the regency/city level in Indonesia in 2016. The method used for this study is ecological study by analyzing secondary data. The statistical test used is correlation for numerical variables and chi-square for categorical variables with 4 strata of area analysis, i.e national, city, regency, and rural area. The results of this study indicate that there is no significant correlation between local income level and neonatal mortality rate, but it is found a correlation trend between health budget allocation percentage and neonatal mortality rate. In addition, social determinants of health variable also has a tendency to correlate with the neonatal mortality rate, except for the unemployment rate variable.

Complete basic immunization (CBI) is a crucial intervention to protect children under two years old from vaccine-preventable infectious diseases. However, in 2023, the national coverage of CBI among children under two in Indonesia was only 34%, far below the 2023 national target of 75%. This gap reflects substantial disparities in immunization protection, which are closely linked to socioeconomic conditions and access to maternal and child health services. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between social determinants of health (SDH) and CBI status among children under two in Indonesia, using a cross-sectional design and the PRECEDE model approach. A total of 12,955 children aged 12–23 months were included in the analysis. Multivariate results revealed three SDH significantly associated with CBI status: maternal education, antenatal care (ANC), and place of delivery. The likelihood of receiving CBI was 1.43 times higher among children of mothers with higher education, 1.25 times higher for those with mothers of medium education, 1.73 times higher for those whose mothers completed ANC, and 2.17 times higher for those born in health facilities. Among these determinants, place of delivery was the most influential factor contributing to disparities in immunization coverage. This inequality indicates systemic gaps in early access to essential health services. Therefore, achieving national CBI coverage targets must be accompanied by efforts to reduce social and geographic disparities. Immunization improvement strategies should be designed based on SDH, with strengthened access to facility-based deliveries, high-quality ANC, and maternal education serving as key pillars for equitable health promotion.

Rerata skor tanggung jawab kesehatan 1,83 (SD = 0,53), kategori sedang-rendah; rerata literasi kesehatan 3,01 (SD = 0,44), kategori mencukupi.

The 2024–2025 Ministry of Health Health Literacy Survey showed that among adults in Java, home to 55.58% of Indonesia’s population, 71% had never sought health counselling, 52% had never participated in health education programmes, and 44% had never undertaken self-health examinations, indicating low levels of health responsibility. This occurred despite perception-based health literacy being relatively adequate (37.5%), while functional health literacy remained limited (only 1.6% achieved an adequate level), suggesting a gap between understanding and the application of health information. To date, no study has examined the relationship between social determinants, health literacy, and health responsibility among the adult population in Java. This study aimed to analyse the association between social determinants, health literacy, and health responsibility among adults in Java using a cross-sectional design and secondary data from the 2024–2025 Ministry of Health Health Literacy Survey. The sample comprised 1,419 adults aged 17–65 years or those who were married, drawn from six provinces in Java. The dependent variable was health responsibility (Health-Promoting Lifestyle Profile II [HPLP-II] subscale, score range 1–4), while the independent variables included health literacy (HLS-EU-Q16, score range 0–4) and social determinants. Data were analysed using independent-samples t-tests, Pearson’s correlation, and weighted multiple linear regression. The mean health responsibility score was 1.83 (SD = 0.53), indicating a moderate-to-low level, whereas the mean health literacy score was 3.01 (SD = 0.44), indicating an adequate level. Health literacy showed the strongest positive association with health responsibility (B = 0.327; 95% CI: 0.264–0.390; p < 0.001). Age ≥45 years (B = 0.140), upper secondary to tertiary education (B = 0.150), and being married (B = 0.088) were positively associated with health responsibility, whereas being male (B = −0.139) and being employed (B = −0.088) were negatively associated (all p < 0.05). Income was not significantly associated with health responsibility (B = −0.036; p = 0.220) and was not identified as a confounding variable. Strengthening health literacy should therefore be prioritised in health promotion initiatives, particularly among men, younger adults, and individuals with lower educational attainment in Java. Keywords: social determinants, health literacy, health responsibility, HPLP-II, HLS-EU-Q16, Java Island

Background: Marginalized waste picker communities in urban informal settlements face multiple social determinants of health that may increase the risk of adverse birth outcomes. Research examining the relationship between the characteristics of marginalized waste picker communities and adverse birth outcomes at the local level remains limited. This study aimed to analyze the association between the characteristics of marginalized waste picker communities and adverse birth outcomes in Kampung Pemulung Pondok Labu, Pondok Labu Village, Cilandak Sub-district, South Jakarta Administrative City. Methods: This cross-sectional study employed a total sampling of 46 reproductive-aged women who had given birth between 2024 and 2026. Data were collected through structured interviews and analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses with the Chi-square test. Results: The prevalence of adverse birth outcomes was 56.5%. The majority of respondents had a composite marginalization score in the poor category. There was a significant association between the level of marginalization and the occurrence of adverse birth outcomes (OR = 4.5; 95% CI = 1.129–17.930; p = 0.027). Mothers with poor marginalized characteristics had higher odds of experiencing adverse birth outcomes. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the characteristics of marginalized waste picker communities and adverse birth outcomes. These findings support the WHO Commission on Social Determinants of Health (CSDH) framework and highlight the need for interventions targeting structural and intermediary determinants in marginalized waste picker populations living in urban informal settlements.

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an infectious disease caused by the bite of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes carrying the dengue virus (DENV). High population density and suboptimal community preventive behaviors contribute to an increased risk of disease transmission. This study aimed to analyze the association between socioeconomic status, knowledge, and individual beliefs based on the Health Belief Model with housewives’ dengue prevention behaviors. This study employed a cross-sectional design with a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of housewives in RW 01 Pasar Minggu, selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected through structured interviews using a questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using the chi-square test with a 95% confidence level (α = 0.05). The results showed that knowledge was significantly associated with dengue prevention behavior, with a p-value of 0.007 (p < 0.05)and an Odds Ratio (OR) of 3.260 (95% CI: 1.439–7.386). The findings indicate that housewives with poor knowledge were 3.260 times more likely to have poor dengue prevention behavior compared to those with better knowledge. In conclusion, knowledge plays a crucial role in influencing dengue prevention behavior among housewives in RW 01 Pasar Minggu. Therefore, it is recommended to enhance community-based educational programs and strengthen the role of jumantik (larvae monitoring cadres) in health education and environmental monitoring, particularly in controlling mosquito larvae at the household level.
