Introduction: Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) is one of the emerging diseasesin the 21st century because of advanced technology with the global prevalencearound 60 million from various population characteristics and could cause aneconomic burden equivalent to 192 trillion rupiah. Objective: This study aims todetermine the relationship of individual, environmental, and computer factors aswell as the dominant risk factor with the occurrence of CVS in the Central JakartaMetropolitan Police Officers in 2020. Method: This study uses a cross-sectionalstudy approach with a sample of 92 police officers who are serving at theheadquarters with the research time along June 2020. Data were collected throughquestionnaire and direct environmental measurements using lux meter and RHIndex. Descriptive statistics (chi square) and binary logistic regression were carriedout to compute frequencies, proportion, relevant associations and dominant riskfactors. Results: The results showed there was no significant relationship on allvariables from individual, environment, and computer factors with the occurrenceof CVS. Nevertheless, there are four variables that are risk factors for CVS such asrefractive errors (OR=1.65), smoking behavior (OR=1.89), humidity (OR=2.50),and computer monitor type (OR=1.11). Multivariate analysis showed that humidityhad a significant relationship with CVS (p=0,04) and a dominant risk factor(OR=2.5). Conclusion: There are four risk factors that can cause CVS occurrencein the police officers at the Central Jakarta Metropolitan Police Headquarters.Suggestion: Risk factors for CVS at the Central Jakarta Metropolitan PoliceHeadquarters need to be done through various health promotion programs andpolicies related to occupational health, environmental, and safety.Key words:Computer Vision Syndrome, Environmental Health Office, Computer.
This thesis discusses the case of Low Back Pain (LBP) among workers in the oil company PT. XYZ in Sumatra. Data of workers diagnosed by LBP by a company doctor is obtained by searching manually, either from a colleague or from other information. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews with respondents. The interview was conducted by telephone due to social restrictions in the work area of the respondents and researchers. The results showed there were differences that were suspected to be the cause of LBP cases in each respondent. Some respondents have risk factors that are thought to be related to their daily work activities in the office while other respondents have risk factors that are thought to be unrelated to their daily work activities in the office. It can be concluded that the work equipment of the respondents in the office is good and is in accordance with the needs of the respondents, where the positive side of the respondents feel safe to work. However, on the other hand requires improvements in the management of working hours and other habits outside the working hours of the respondents.
The objective of this study are to describe profile and relationship between individual and occupational risks factors with musculoskeletal discomfort in office workers of PT. X Jakarta. This is cross-sectional using secondary data of medical check up (MCU) and RSIGuard software for 607 workers. There are 272 of 607 workers (48.1%) complained musculoskeletal discomfort based on self-asessment result. Based on bivariate test results a significant (p <0.005) for individual factors (height, weight, exercise, sex and medical finding during MCU), and occupational risk factors from computer usages (self assessment risk, overall risk level, average daily mouse use, break time taken and average strain of mouse use). The final model of multivariate test results a significant correlation of gender, findings of musculoskeletal problems, self-assessment and overall assessment with musculoskeletal discomfort complaints. Suggestions addressed to reduce occupational factors to prevent discomfort and work-related musculoskeletal disorder through ergonomic princips.
