The probability of work accidents in the construction sector are still high while the challenges ahead are even greater. Construction industri is one of the dominant factors in the national development strategy and facing global markets. Organizational commitment in implementing occupational safety and health management system can reduce the number of workplace accidents and create a safe environment for work. This study examines the level of commitment and evaluates the application of occupational safety and health in construction company, namely PT X. This study was a descriptive analytic research with in-depth analysis based on in depth interviews. The main variables of this research are considered to obligation of Republic of Indonesia OHSMS regulation, those are organizational structure and policy. The commitment set by the company is compared with the consistency of its implementation at three stages of work on the project those are preparation, execution and post construction. This research obtained that the company’s commitment is administratively high however the consistency is still medium because the application was not optimal in the field. In the evaluation found several gaps, those are client enforcement, role models, monitoring and communication scheme that must be improved.
The high demands to be competent globalization and MEA raising public awareness through higher education, it must be supported with the good infrastructure in the field of education. To meet the infrastructure needs of the Indonesian University authorities delegated to the contractor. Works construction project is a work in dangerous and high risk, it is necessary for a good system so as to protect workers and the working environment (because it is within the scope of the University of Indonesia) in the field of construction, called a Contractor Safety Health Environment Management System (CSHEMS). This study, the authors based on the Guidelines for the Implementation Contractor Management Universitas Indonesia. The data collection is done by means of interviews, review of documents, and direct observation to the field. In the qualifying stage was won by PT Intraco Lestari with the value of the fulfillment of qualifications by 71%. During the implementation phase, researchers conducted an inspection directly to the field by using the inspection form based on the Guidelines for the Implementation Contractor Management Universitas Indonesia, PT Intraco Lestari result obtained average value 8 of the total value of 10. The researchers did not conduct the evaluation stage due to the vocational building project stage two is still ongoing and not yet completed. Researchers provide recommendations to PT Intraco Lestari to continuing to improve on the points that are less and give attention to the points which have not been carried out in accordance with the inspection form on construction activities at the University of Indonesia.
This study discusses the risk that the value of owned production process everystep of the overhaul compresor chiller AC system by PT. Jaya Teknik Indonesia inPertamina Kwarna Building, in 2012. Risk assessment is done by analyzing theprobability value, exposure and consequences of each phase of work which is thencompared to a standard level of risk semi-quantitative WT Fine J to determine thelevel of risk that exist at each stage of the production process. This study is adescriptive analytical study using semi-quantitative method AS / NZS 4360:2004.The study states that the level of risk that you have on each step in the productionarea of work includes very high level, priority one, substantial, priority 3 andacceptable.Key Words:AS / NZS 4360:2004, risk assessment, probability, exposure, consequences, levelof risk
