Factors Influencing the Administration Processing Time for In-Patients Admitted at Rumah Sakit Pondok Indah (RSPI) (2002)One of the common aspects in hospital that complained by patients is "waiting time?. The admission department in hospital plays an important role as the initial point for patient to obtain various hospital services. The admission department in Rumah Sakit Pondok Indah (RSPI) is the location where patients make inquiries and do their admission to be treated as in-patient out-patient. The department has been complained due to its long administration processing time, particularly for in-patients.A survey conducted on 6 - 11 august 2001 to 20 samplers showed the average administration processing time for in-patients admitted in RSPI was 30 minutes/patient, prior to their admission.Meanwhile, according to study carded out by NAHAM (National Association of Healthcare Access Management) in May 1993, the ideal time of administration process for in-patients are 10.57 minutes/patient.The objective of this thesis is to find out the length of administration processing time for in-patients in RSPI; and to identify factors influencing the processing time. The method adopted on this study is descriptive by qualitative and quantitative approach through in-depth observation to the activities involved in the admission process. The field study was performed in RSPI for 22 days to 131 samples, excluding the emergency-unit patients. The sampling method carried out is a proportional random sampling based on the type of payment in RSPI, which covers cash (69%), insurance (16%) and company cooperation (15%). The study indicates that different types of payment have different admission process, with the average processing time of 32.07 minutes/patientTo find out the correlation between `dependent variables' and 'independent variables', Chi-Square method is applied. The study reveals that 3 out of 8 independent variables observed have direct correlation to the length of administration processing time (as the dependent variable). These three in depended variables are: room/bed preparation, room/bed allocation, patient preparation and issuing the visitor badge & parking ticket.By identifying the average length of administration processing time for inpatients and the impediment factors, it is expected that the processing time can be reduced in order to increase patient's satisfaction.
During one and a half years, the insurance claim life cycle filling by Awal BrosPekanbaru to BPJS Kesehatan faced many obstacles, such as: longer time tosubmit the billing claims documents that impact to delay on receives payment. This Research using pretest posttest experimental method to observe total time ofinsurance claim life cycle and time between processes, identify the waste, andperform short term and medium-term improvement plan by using Lean Six Sigmamethod.
