H2S is dangerous compound that colorless and has smell like rotten egg. One of this compound source is produced from decomposition process in landfill. The most sensitive body system when exposed to H2S is respiratory system. This study aims to analyze the effect of H2S intake to respiratory symptoms at people living around the Cipayung Landfill. This study design uses cross sectional. Data collection was carried out by interview by questionnaire and measure H2S ambient at 9 poimts locate aroundd community settlements. The result were found intake of H2S associated with respiratory symptoms (p value=0,012; OR=10,5; CI 95%=1,25-88,02). The result of multivariat analysis were found H2S intake influence respiratory symptoms after controlled by duration living variable (p value=0,026; OR=6,78; CI 95%= 1,612-64,572). It needs to measure routine H2S ambient and ensure that concentration was safe as well as proper management efforts from City Government of Depok, Cipayung Landfill and related stakeholders in order to reduce the health risk problems to the people living around Cipayung landfill.
Human need for food is one of the key issues initiated by the un in the indicators of achievement of sutainable development goals (SDGS). Food is a source of life for humans and can also be a source of health problems. This research uses descriptive research method. Data collection using interview method, observation, and laboratory testing.
The result of the research showed that the behavior of eligible handlers was 92,86%, eligible fulfillment requirement was 92,86%, eligible food appliance was 100%. Laboratory test results obtained positive hand swabs and e. coli positive foods oF 16.7%.
The results suggested further examination of food and water, training of handlers, and creating environments that support hygiene practices food sanitation. Key words: food, hygiene, sanitation, contamination, e. coli
Escherichia coli is a commonly used bacteria as a parameter related to fecal contamination and sanitation. The presence of nitrate in water is also an indicator related to sanitation. Several studies show that sanitation can affect concentration of TDS (Total Dissolve Solids) in groundwater. So, the presences of E. coli, nitrate, and TDS in groundwater that used as daily needs household drinking water can affect human health. This study aims to analyze the relationship between seven household sanitation conditions and the quality of household drinking water from groundwater based on the presence of E. coli, nitrate, and TDS as the parameters. The sanitation conditions include 7 aspects, such as defecation facilities, faecal disposal sites, the distance between feces disposal sites and drinking water sources, household waste disposal sites, the distance between household and temporary storage sites (TPS)/Final Processing Sites (TPA), household waste water disposal facilities, and the distance between household waste water disposal facilities and drinking water source. This research uses secondary data with a cross sectional analysis method. The analysis was carried out with univariate test and bivariate test using chi square test with a confidence level of 90%. The research results showed that there was significant relations between faecal disposal sites and TDS (p=0.086), waste disposal sites and E. coli (p=0.054), the distance to the nearest waste disposal sites and TDS. Therefore, the suggestions for further researcher to analyze the relations with health.
Food contamination causes by bacteria is one of the issue in food safety matter. Thereby, researcher want to research on Escherichia coli bacteria contamination in food that has a high risk of contamination which are possess high level of protein and water content. Researcher want to associated it with hygiene sanitation as a one of the factors of the food contamination occurence. This research was conducted inside university (campus) since this area has less concerns yet there are numerous of food intoxication cases specified in university areas. The result from this research found that there were association between personal hygiene [OR 5,357 95% CI 1,589-18,062], food preparation hygiene [OR 3,611 95% CI 1,109-11,763] with food contamination cause by Escherichia coli. The outcome from regression logistic test found that the dominant factor influenced food contamination cause by Escherichia coli is personal hygiene with p-value 0,007. Based on Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA), there are no interaction between every independent variable. Keywords: Escherichia coli, foods, campus, hygiene, sanitation
Snack food is one of the foods that are often consumed by the community. However, street food is very susceptible to contamination, one of which is bacteria. Food contaminated with bacteria, especially Escherichia coli, can cause health problems. This study aims to determine the relationship between food sanitation hygiene and Escherichia coli bacterial contamination in street food in the street food area of Koja, North Jakarta. This research was conducted using a cross sectional study design with a sample of 35 food handlers selling around Jalan Semangka and Jalan Labu, Lagoa, Koja, North Jakarta. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires and laboratory tests carried out in May until June 2022. The results of laboratory tests using the TPC (Total Plate Count) method showed that as many as 10 snacks were positively contaminated with Escherichia coli. Based on the results of the Chisquare test, it was found that there was a significant relationship between equipment sanitation (p = 0.027) and food presentation (p = 0.008) with Escherichia coli contamination in street food in the Street food area of Koja, North Jakarta. Therefore, food handlers need to pay attention to the sanitation of equipment and food presentation by paying attention to the cleanliness of the water used for washing equipment and the cleanliness of the cloth used for selling in order to reduce the possibility of contamination.
Cases of diarrhea in Pandeglang district is still high especially in Regionof Puskesmas Cibaliung, Labuan, and Pagelaran which is half of the caseshappened to underfive years children. Cases of diarrhea (2012) in PuskesmasCibaliung, Labuan, and Pagelaran are 244, 1.440, and 686.This study aims to analyze association between contamination ofEscherichia coli in drinking water and factor of environmental sanitation withunderfive years children acute diarrhea in region of Puskesmas Cibaliung,Labuan, and Pagelaran, Regency of Pandeglang Province of Banten in 2013. Thisstudy used case control design. The information collected by interview aboutenvironmental risk factor and laboratorium analyze of drinking water sample andtumbler swab. Conclusion of this study is contamination of Escherichia coli in drinkingwater and factor of environmental sanitation have not association with underfiveyears children acute diarrhea. Whereas nutrition, knowledge of mother, andhygiene sanitation of food and water have association with underfive yearschildren acute diarrhea. Main risk factor which causes underfive years childrenacute diarrhea are knowledge of mother and hygiene sanitation of food and water.Keyword: Escherichia coli, factor of environmental sanitation, acute diarrhea, underfive years children
