The ILO states that one of the categories of potential hazards to crane operators is ergonomics and psychosocial hazards. This study aims to analyze the work posture of crane operators at PT. XXX Tanjung Priok branch in 2021. The research design is a descriptive study. The results of the study will be analyzed using the REBA worksheet. Furthermore, it will be analyzed in relation to complaints of skeletal muscle disorders, and interactions with the workplace that pose ergonomic risks. This research focuses only on the activity of operating a crane. Assessment of work posture is carried out on the crane operator with the current design, then two crane cabin design proposals are made. The redesign was carried out in the 2018 version of the SketchUp Application software, then an evaluation of the work posture was carried out according to the crane cabin design proposal. This study shows that ergonomics interventions in the workplace reduce the mismatch between humans and machines and also make the workplace comfortable to work
Occupational Health is one of the efforts to promote and maintain the highest level of physical, mental and social health of workers in all occupations, prevention of problems related to workers due to their working conditions, protection of workers in their work from risks caused by factors detrimental to health, placement and maintenance of workers in a work environment that is adapted to their physiological and psychological abilities. This study aims to analyze the risk factors for metabolic syndrome of workers at the Priok Generation Unit PT. X. 2021. This study used a cross sectional method, with a sample of 100 respondents to workers at the Priok Generation Unit PT. X. Data analysis was carried out univariate, bivariate using chi square test and multivariat with logistic regression method using SPSS software version 23. The research instrument has been tested for validity and reliability in accordance with the rules and obtained a certificate of passing the ethical review with Number: Ket-552 /UN2.F10.D11/PPM.00.02/2021 issued by the research ethics committee of the Faculty of Public Health, University of Indonesia. The components of the metabolic syndrome most experienced by research respondents were an increase in fasting blood sugar, hypertension, an increase in triglycerides, the occurrence of central obesity and a decrease in HDL fat levels in the blood. This study shows that the risk factors that are significantly related to the occurrence of metabolic syndrome in workers are age, education level, smoking status and physical activity. Based on multivariate modeling with 11 modeling test stages, it was found that the personal education factor is one of the most dominant factors in the occurrence of metabolic syndrome. The level of education is one of the dimensions that describes a person's level of knowledge and insight, so the higher the level of knowledge education to carry out a healthy lifestyle to prevent the occurrence of metabolic syndrome, the better
Health and Safety (HSE) is an effort to preserve the unity of thought and perfection of the human body and spirit in general and workers in particular, and the work culture in the framework towards a just and prosperous society. The high risk of accidents and health of workers in the industry today should be a major concern both for workers, employers, and government, especially in the PT. Pertamina (Persero) LPG and Gas Products Region III Depot LPG Tanjung Priok in terms of risk Analysis in the process of loading and unloading of LPG 3 Kg size. By understanding and realization of the theory of risk management all the potential risks inherent in any process of the work done will be done in the minimization and prevention and further control the work process is.
Job stress is one of risk factor to work ability impairment, which has impact to productivity. The purpose of this research is to analyze the relation between stress level and work ability on press- machine operator in PT. X year 2014. This research is quantitative research with cross sectional design study. Data is collected using questionnaire which is adapted from Niosh Gereric Job Stress Questionnare and Work Ability Index. Job factor which has significant relation with job stress is work environment, work design, social support, and career development. This research show that there is a siginificant relation between job stress, and work ability, with proportion 80,6% workers that had heavy work related stress has poor work ability. Based on chi square test, worker with heavy stress have risk until 8 times higher to have work ability impairment, than worker with light stress.
The mining industry applies a work shift system to increase its productivity. One of the unavoidable issue of shift work is fatigue. Fatigue is a subjective feeling of mental and physical activity that leads to decreased concentration, alertness, increased errors and accidents. The purpose of this study is to analyze fatigue on mining operators at PT Harmoni Panca Utama and PT Hasta Panca Mandiri Utama in 2021. This research is quantitative using secondary data from Dr. Hendra S.K.M., M.K.K.K. with a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study are 101 respondents. Research variables include fatigue and risk factors consisting of work-related factors (work period, work shifts, work stress levels, cabin environment) and non-work-related factors (age, nutritional status, health status, place of residence, sleep quantity and quality). Several variables in this study were measured using standard instruments, such as Cheklist Individual Strength-20 Questionnaire to measure fatigue, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) Questionnaire to measure sleep quantity and quality, and Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) Questionnaire to measure work stress levels. Analysis of the relationship between fatigue risk factors and operator fatigue using the chi-square test. The analysis of the dominant risk factors associated with fatigue is obtained through multiple logistic regression tests. The results of the analysis showed that 13.9% of operators experienced fatigue. The only risk factors associated with operator fatigue were work-related factors, namely work shifts (p=0.01; OR=7.38; 95% CI: 1.55-7.38) and work stress levels (p= 0.02; OR=10.08; 95% CI: 1.26-80.5). The dominant factor related to fatigue is the level of work stress. Operators who have moderate-to-severe stress have 8.7 times the risk of experiencing fatigue compared to operators who have low stress levels. Suggestions for companies include conducting fatigue awareness training for workers, increasing stress management programs, and supervising night shift workers. Workers are expected to take a nap before working on the night shift and do relaxation, stretching, and recreation in their spare time or holiday
Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) have the highest proportion of 45% - 91 % in most countries (Eurostat,2004; Aweto 2015). Awkward posture is the main cause of this MSDs. Chemical Process Industry is one work station in which awkward work posture is often found. The present study discusses more thoroughly on risk factor on awkward posture as information and basic model for ergonomic improvement at PT X. The risk factors studied included risk factor of individual, work and workplace design. This study uses descriptive qualitative analysis using oberservational approach. Instrument used was Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) with interview, observation and measurement. The study was conducted at 2 (two) work stations namely Toluenesulfonyl Hydrazide (TSH) and Azodicarbonamide (ADCA) reaction. Research result revealed that the most risky work posture was in weighing and packaging activity of Azodicarbonamide in the ADCA work station with score of 15. Improvement using work rotation, work variation, ergonomic training and provision of tools is highly recommended to overcome awkward posture.
