The prevalence of mental disorders among young adults in Indonesia has increased, indicating the importance of improving mental health literacy among them. This study aimed to determine the social determinants and mental health literacy among first year undergraduate students of Universitas Hasanuddin, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Data for this study came from the Indonesia Health Literacy Study 2019, a cross-sectional online survey of undergraduate students from four public universities in four provinces of Indonesia. Mental health literacy was measured using the Mental Health Literacy Scale (MHLS) which had been adapted into Indonesia context. The results showed that respondents had relatively low mental health literacy (M=59,60 on a scale of 0-100). Bivariate analysis showed that gender, relationship status, and scientific clusters were associated with MHLS. Multivariate analysis showed that mental health literacy was lower among male students, students who refused to reveal their ethnic identities, and students of science-tech cluster. Interventions through mental health education and mental health call center are recommended to improve mental health literacy, especially among these undergraduate students of Universitas Hasanuddin.
Mental disorders are a global health problem. This is also supported by the COVID-19 pandemic. The need for prevention to maintain mental health, including by increasing mental health literacy. This study aims to determine the description of mental health literacy in undergraduate students at Universitas Islam 45 Bekasi 2021 and its relationship with individual characteristics. Data collection was carried out through filling out online questionnaires to 146 undergraduate students selected through a quota per faculty. The research was carried out in April-December 2021 at the 45 Islamic University, Bekasi. The results showed that the average mental health literacy score was 69.85 out of a scale of 100. There was a significant relationship between gender and pocket money with the level of mental health literacy. These results suggest mental health interventions through education by holding public lectures or webinars, joint sports activities, and bazaars. In addition, the university can reactivate the psychological service unit, provide a call center and mental health online services, and provide input to academic supervisors to monitor students, both academically and physically and psychologically. Globalization is an era of competition to the quality of human resources. This timethe goverment established a strategy effort to ensure graduate‟s competency by coachingand supervised human resource of public health through sertification and registration letterthat have to through the stage of core competency. So the university become the main coreto graduates standardization. One of graduate‟s quality indicator can be seen byaccreditation of the university. Essentially, the university have to increased education‟squality gradually by ability to see the oportunity, potency, and threat to be effective inaction and producing compatible graduate that ready to compete at the work field. This casestudy research was conducted with secondary data. The result of this research, there areleadership aspect and the way to manage resouce of fund is still low. We still could see thedisparity between the university with A accreditation, B, or C. The conclusion that wecould take is to produce Public Health gradute that match with national standard andpasssed core competency, university is being expeccted to give balanced attention for 8(eight) components of core competency, espescially in leadership aspect to create theuniversity with A accredition, accreditation foundation give coaching and monitoring to theuniversity in order of quality escalation.Key words: Quality of education, core competency, accreditation.
Correlation between Characteristic of Student Diploma III Program with Study Performance on Subject Health Community NursingAs we know, study performance especially on subject health community nursing is generally low. 75 % of students get "C" score for this subject. If this condition not taken seriously, it can impacted to quality of alumni of this institution on doing their jobs in health service after graduate from their school, it also impact to performance of education institution. ABSTRAK Nama Program Studi Judul : : : Dani Ferdian Ilmu Kesehatan Masyarakat Analisis Motivasi Kesediaan Mahasiswa Program Studi Profesi Dokter Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Padjadjaran Dalam Berkarier Di Layanan Kesehatan Primer Tersedianya pelayanan kesehatan primer yang berkualitas dan memadai adalah elemen penting dalam menyukseskan program Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional untuk mewujudkan keberhasilan pembangunan nasional. Kurangnya minat dari mahasiswa kedokteran dalam memilih karier sebagai dokter yang bekerja di layanan kesehatan primer akan berdampak terhadap kesinambungan pelaksanaan sistem kesehatan nasional. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah diperolehnya informasi mendalam tentang motivasi kesediaan Mahasiswa Program Studi Profesi Dokter (PSPD) Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Padjadjaran (FK Unpad) dalam berkarier di layanan kesehatan primer. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data yang dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam dan diskusi kelompok terarah. Informan adalah Mahasiswa PSPD FK Unpad periode Februari 2016 – Juli 2017 yang telah melewati stase/rotasi klinik Ilmu Kesehatan Masyarakat maupun Ilmu Kedokteran Keluarga. Untuk meningkatkan validitas data dilakukan triangulasi sumber, metode, data, dan analisis. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan thematic analysis. Hasil penelitian yang didapatkan melalui 13 wawancara mendalam dan 1 diskusi kelompok terarah menunjukkan bahwa motivasi yang hanya ditemukan pada Mahasiswa PSPD FK Unpad yang tertarik dalam berkarier di layanan kesehatan primer adalah berkaitan dengan beban kerja dan waktu kerja (intrinsic process motivation); nilai orientasi sosial, tanggung jawab, dan kepedulian (goal internalization); konsep diri supel (internal self concept-based motivation); dan penerimaan masyarakat (external self concept-based motivation). Dari hasil ini, FK Unpad diharapkan dapat memberikan motivasi kepada mahasiswa melalui kurikulum dan lingkungan akademis yang mendukung tumbuhnya minat untuk berkarier di layanan kesehatan primer. FK Unpad perlu memperkuat proses pendidikan yang memastikan konsep nilai dapat tumbuh dan berkembang. Proses pendidikan juga wajib memperhatikan role model yang berinteraksi sebagai lingkungan terdekat mahasiswa selama pendidikan berlangsung. FK Unpad bersama Ikatan Alumni dan Organisasi Kemahasiswaan juga perlu menyusun program pengenalan profesi kepada mahasiswa sejak Program Studi Sarjana Kedokteran (PSSK) secara berkala, efektif, dan menarik. ABSTRACT Name Study Program Title : : : Dani Ferdian Public Health Motivation and willingness to work in primary healthcare service among interns in Faculty of Medicine Padjadjaran University The availability of high quality primary healthcare service is an important factor to improve the National Health Insurance program in Indonesia. Decreasing interest of medical students to work in primary healthcare service would give an impact to the continuity of healthcare system. The aim of this study was to explore the motivation and willingness to work in primary healthcare service among interns in Faculty of Medicine Padjadjaran University. A qualitative approach with in-depth interview and focused group discussion was used in this study. The participants were interns that already finished their rotation in Public Health and Family Medicine course during February 2016 - July 2017. Data validity is examined by triangulation of informant, method, data, and analysis. Data were analyzed by thematic analysis. Thirteen individual in-depth interview and one focused group discussion sessions were conducted. The results showed that participants’ motivation was related to workload and working time (intrinsic process motivation); social orientation value, responsibility, and concern (goal internalization); sociable self-concept (internal self-concept-based motivation); and community acceptance (external self-concept-based motivation). Based on these results, it is important to promote medical students motivation to work in primary healthcare service through regular curriculum and academic environment. The medical faculty should promote growth and developmental value in learning process with good role model as the closest learning experience for students. Together with association of alumni and students organization, Faculty of Medicine Padjadjaran University also need to introduce the career options early in effective ways and a regular period.
