The focus of this study is the exposure assessment of handling Dangerous Goodsbenzene and xylene in Industrial Chemical Specialties Department at PTABCIndonesia. The purpose of this study is to analyze the exposure of benzeneand xylene also to evaluate the control programs of dangerous chemical exposure.This study is a qualitative research with descriptive interpretive. The data werecollected by open questionnaires and environment monitoring by personalsampling method to ensure the level of air quality. From the results, theresearcher suggests that workers need to increase awareness regarding personalprotective equipment used especially when handling dangerous goods chemicals.Company also has to improve management of personal protective equipmentwhich involved all workers who contact with dangerous chemicals. Bahan kimia berbahaya merupakan substansi yang kita butuhkan sekaligus dapat menyebabkan bahaya. Bahaya yang terjadi diantaranya dapat menyebabkan, korosi, radiasi, peledakan, kebakaran, keracunan atau gangguan penyakit. Gudang farmasi kabupaten dibentuk berdasarkan keputusan Menteri Kesehatan nomor : 610fmenkes//SK?XI/81, mempunyai tugas melaksanakan, penerimaan, penyirnpanan dan pendistribusian perbekalan farmasi dan peralatan kesehatan yang diperlukan dalam rangka pelayanan kesehatan, pencegahan dan pemberantasan penyakit. Sampai sekarang telah dibentuk gudang farmasi kabupaten di seluruh Indonesia. Dari pengamatan sernentara, penyimpanan, penanganan, asilitas, alat pelindung diri, standart prosedur operasi, pendidikan dan pelatihan, hygien personal belum berjalan baik. Dari kondidi diatas perlu dilakukan penelitian resiko bahan kimia berbahaya yang disimpan di GFk Belitung. Penelitian ini hanya terbatas pada analisa resiko kebakaran dan keracunan. Pertanyaannya adalah bagaiaman tingkat resiko kebakaran dan keracunan terhadap pekerja, properti dan pelayanan kesehatan masyarakat. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui tingkat resiko masing masing bahan kimia berbahaya. Metodologi penelitian adalah analisa diskriptif, semi kuantitatif dengan pendekatan manajemen rsiko, meliputi identifikasi, analisa, evaluasi dan pengendalian. Hasil yang didapat dari tingkat resiko kebakaran untuk etil kloridan dan etanol adalah tinggi, metanol, aceton, eter adalah rendah, sedangkan malathion dan fonnaldehida adalah sangat rendah.Tingkat resiko kemcunan untuk metanol adalah sedang, aceton, malathion, ormaldehida, etanol, etil klorida adalah rendah, sedangkan eter adalah sangat rendah. Dari hasil penelitian ini disarankan untuk melakukan penelitian bio monitoring terhadap pekerja, dan penelitian pengukuiran konsentrasi uap bahan mudah terbakar.The chemicals hazard are subtance needed, but also dangerouslts are dangrous to human, property and environment.
The chemicals hazard are caution to corrosive, radiation, explotion, fire , injury and toxic. Warehouse farmaceutical regency is establish by Minister of Heealth rules, no 610/Menkes/SK/XL/81 .The job and fungtion of warehouse regency is recieving, storing and distributing farmaceutical goods, health tools, for health commmunity services, prevention and eliminate disease. Now, warehouse farmaceutical regency have built every regency in Indonesia. By empiris observation, storing, handling, facility, safety and health protection, standart operation procedure, training and education, personal hygiens,are not carefully. By above the condition , this reseach is to explore chemical hazard risk in the warehouse Belitung regency. The reseach is limited to iire risk analysis and toxic risk analysis. The questions are,how fire risk level and toxic risk level to occupational, property and community health services. The aim of this reseach is understanding of risk level each chemical hazard. The reseach method,s is discription analysis, semikuantitative by risk management. Risk management step,s are identification, analysis, evaluation and control risk. The reseach showed that the tire risk level of ethyl chloride, ethanol are high, so methanol, aceton, ether are medium and formaldehide, malathion are very low. The toxic risk level of methanol is medium, aceton, malathion, formadehide, ethyl chloride are low, and than ether is very low. The suggestion to improve this reseach is biomonitoring reseach to occupational, and messure volatile chemical hazard concentration in work place.
