ABSTRAK Nama : MOCHAMAD FEBIYANTO Program Studi : Magister Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja Judul : Analisis Profil Persepsi Risiko Supir (operator) Truk Angkut Batubara di PT X Tahun 2017 Sebagian besar kecelakaan di jalan angkut batubara perusahaan pertambangan PT X pada tahun 2016 melibatkan supir (operator) truk angkut batubara yang penyebab utamanya adalah tindakan tidak aman dari supir. Tindakan tidak aman ini dipengaruhi oleh persepsi risiko yang dimiliki oleh supir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan analisis dan melihat profil persepsi risiko supir (operator) truk angkut batubara terhadap faktor penyebab kecelakaan di PT X tahun 2017. Pengukuran profil persepsi risiko menggunakan 6 dimensi psikometri, yaitu kesukarelaan terhadap risiko, kesegeraan akibat, pengetahuan tentang risiko, pengendalian risiko, ketakutan, dan keparahan akibat. Data dikumpulkan dari 121 partisipan yang berasal dari 6 perusahaan jasa pertambangan kontraktor PT X yang melakukan kegiatan pengangkutan batubara. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan supir (operator) truk angkut batubara di PT X memiliki persepsi risiko yang baik pada 5 dimensi dari 6 dimensi psikometri yang diukur, sehingga secara umum profil persepsi risiko supir adalah baik. Penelitian ini juga menunjukkan usia memberikan perbedaan yang bermakna pada nilai rata-rata persepsi risiko dimensi pengetahuan tentang risiko, ketakutan, dan keparahan akibat. Sedangkan lama masa kerja dan asal perusahaan tidak memberikan perbedaan yang bermakna pada nilai rata-rata persepsi risiko. Kata kunci: Persepsi risiko; psikometri; pertambangan; supir truk
ABSTRACT Name : MOCHAMAD FEBIYANTO Study Program : Magister Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja Title : Risk Perception Analysis of Coal Haul Truck Drivers at PT X Year 2017 Most of the accidents on PT X's coal haul roads in 2016 involve coal haul truck drivers whose main cause is the unsafe act of the drivers. This unsafe act is influenced by the risk perception that the driver has. This study aims to analyze and see the profile of the risk perception of coal haul truck drivers to the factors that cause accidents in PT X year 2017. Measurement of risk perception profile using 6 dimensions of psychometric, namely voluntariness of risk, immediacy of effect, knowledge about risk, control over risk, common-dread, and severity of consequences. Data were collected from 121 participants from 6 mining service contractors PT X who conducted coal hauling activities. The results of this study indicate that the coal hauling truck drivers in PT X has a good risk perception on the 5 dimensions of the six dimensions of the measured psychometry, so that in general the risk perception profile of the driver is good. The study also showed age to have significant differences in the risk perception’s mean value of knowledge about risk, common-dread, and severity of consequences. While the work experience and the origin of the company does not provide a meaningful difference in the mean value of risk perception. ABSTRAK Tesis ini membahas karakteristik dan profil dari safety leadership (SL) pada posisi Supervisor, Foreman dan Leadman pada pada projek MHBL di PT. AD yang merupakan tambang batubara. Selain penilaian dilakukan dari sisi supervisor, foreman dan leadman, juga dilakukan penilaian dari sisi operator yang dipimpin langsung oleh ketiga posisi manajemen lini tersebut.Penelitian ini adalah penelitian semi kuantitatif dengan desian deskriptif, dimana objek penelitian terdiri dari 4 posisi: supervisor, foreman, leadman dan operator. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan teori dari Thomas Krause (2005) mengenai safety leadership yang dipengaruhi oleh 4 faktor: Personality, Transformational Leadership Style, Best Practices dan Organizational Culture. Peneliti hanya menggunakan 3 variabel pertama sebagai konsep penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa supervisor, foreman dan leadman menunjukkan hasil yang belum optimal dalam pemenuhan safety leadership di tempat kerja.Sedangkan hasil penilaian operator terhadap safety leadership supervisor, foreman dan leadman di tempat kerja menunjukkan hasil yang baik pada variabel transformational leadership dan best practices, namun pada variabel personality belum memenuhi kriteria safety leadership.
ABSTRACT This research discussed the characteristic and profile of Safety Leadership in job position of Supervisor, Foreman and Leadman in MHBL project at PT. AD which is the second largest coal producer in Indonesia. The evaluation also conducted on operator/ tradesman level which directly supervise within those three levels of frontline management.It?s a semi quantitative research with descriptive design, in which the research objects are four job positions: supervisor, foreman, leadman and operator. The approach being used in this Thesis is Thomas Krause?s theory (2005) of Safety Leadership, which influenced by four factors: Personality, Transformational Leadership Style, Best Practices and Organizational Culture. Researcher took three variables and excludes the organizational culture, as the concept of the research.The result shows that supervisor, foreman and leadman has not fulfil the criteria of safety leadership in their workplace, while the evaluation form operator shown that their supervisor, foreman and leadman already fill the transformational leadership and best practices criteria, although the personality criteria hasn?t fully achieved in safety leadership.
In the era of digital transformation in the workplace, technology has evolved in the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) to create a safe and productive work environment while preventing occupational accidents and diseases. The application of OHS technologies, such as wearable devices, virtual reality (VR), and digital reporting systems that has been widely adopted in safety training and management programs. The effective use of such technologies requires understanding and acceptance from workers, which may vary across generations. This study aims to compare and analyze the factors influencing differences in OHS perceptions and the adaptation of OHS technology in the workplace among Generation Z, Generation Y, and Seniors (Generation X and Baby Boomers). A mixed methods approach was employed, beginning with a questionnaire distributed across generational groups, followed by in-depth interviews with selected respondents. Data were analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis test, which revealed significant differences in intergenerational collaboration. However, no significant differences were found in OHS perceptions, attitudes, or technology adaptation across generations. Interview results indicated that Generation Z tends to adapt more quickly to OHS technologies compared to other generations. Therefore, it is important for workers to participate in training, and for workplaces to support the adaptation of OHS technology through communication and training strategies tailored to the characteristics of each generation.
Industri agrokimia menghadapi risiko keselamatan tinggi akibat penggunaan bahan kimia berbahaya dan proses produksi yang kompleks. Safety leadership menjadi krusial dalam menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang aman dan meminimalkan risiko kecelakaan serta dampak negatif terhadap kesehatan pekerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis profil safety leadership di PT X dan menganalisis implementasinya berdasarkan LEAD Model. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan mixed method, dengan data kuantitatif melalui kuesioner yang diadaptasi dari LEAD Scale dan data kualitatif melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi lapangan, dan tinjauan dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa safety leadership di PT X memiliki karakteristik yang positif dengan dimensi Leverage, Energise, Adapt, dan Defend. Dimensi Leverage menunjukkan skor tertinggi (4,56), menandakan efektivitas pemimpin dalam memanfaatkan sumber daya. Namun, dimensi Defend memiliki skor terendah (4,12), menunjukkan perlunya peningkatan dalam strategi perlindungan dan mitigasi risiko. Subdimensi dengan skor tertinggi adalah Clarity (4,63), sedangkan yang terendah adalah Accountability (4,12). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa PT X telah berhasil menerapkan safety leadership dengan baik, namun masih ada ruang untuk peningkatan, terutama dalam aspek akuntabilitas. Saran yang diberikan meliputi pengembangan sistem pemantauan yang lebih efektif, mendorong keterlibatan aktif karyawan dalam program keselamatan, dan membangun budaya keselamatan yang proaktif.
The agrochemical industry faces high safety risks due to the use of hazardous chemicals and complex production processes. Safety leadership is crucial in creating a safe work environment and minimizing the risk of accidents and negative impacts on workers' health. This study aims to analyze the safety leadership profile at PT X and evaluate its implementation based on the LEAD Model. The research method employs a mixed- method approach, utilizing quantitative data collected through questionnaires adapted from the LEAD Scale and qualitative data through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document reviews. The study results indicate that safety leadership at PT X exhibits positive characteristics across the dimensions of Leverage, Energise, Adapt, and Defend. The Leverage dimension scored the highest (4.56), indicating the effectiveness of leaders in utilizing resources. However, the Defend dimension scored the lowest (4.12), highlighting the need for improvements in protection strategies and risk mitigation. The subdimension with the highest score is Clarity (4.63), while Accountability scored the lowest (4.12). The conclusion of this study is that PT X has successfully implemented safety leadership, but there is still room for improvement, particularly in accountability aspects. Recommendations include developing a more effective monitoring system, encouraging active employee participation in safety programs, and fostering a proactive safety culture.
