Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is an infectious disease in the form of an acute infection by the dengue virus, which is transmitted by the Aedes mosquito. Dengue fever cases in Indonesia in 2024 until the 12th week of dengue fever cases have increased by 2.6 times compared to cases in 2023 in the same week. The number of dengue incidents in Cilacap Regency in 2024 has increased up to 6 times compared to the previous year's events. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between climate change (rainfall, air temperature and air humidity) and the incidence of dengue fever in Cilacap Regency in in January 2022 till July 2024. The study design is in the form of an ecological study by analyzing secondary data from the Population Control and Family Planning Health Office and secondary data from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency of Cilacap Regency in a total sample. The analysis was carried out univariate and bivariate with Pearson correlation test and linear regression analysis using SPSS ver. 20. The results of the analysis show that rainfall and air humidity have no significant relationship. Meanwhile, air temperature has a significant relationship (P=0.02, r=0,416). Researchers concluded that an increase in air temperature may affect the increased incidence of dengue hemorrhagic fever, because the air temperature is able to accelerate the breeding of Aedes mosquitoes. So that if there is an increase in air temperature, it is recommended to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency to provide information to the health office for population control and family control, so that it is used as a concern to be vigilant and immediately take preventive measures.
This study analyzes the utilization of healthcare services at Primary Healthcare Facilities (FKTP) by hypertension patients registered as participants of the National Health Insurance (JKN) in 2022. The research design employed a cross-sectional approach with BPJS 2023 sample data. The results show that the majority of hypertension patients (96.4%) utilized FKTP services fewer than 12 times a year, while only 3.6% utilized them frequently (≥12 times). Significant factors associated with service utilization include age, gender, marital status, care class, participant segmentation, and regional area. The dominant factor is age, with participants aged ≥65 years having the highest likelihood of frequent service utilization (OR = 33.41, 95% CI: 27.08-41.22). These findings indicate the need for improved access and education on primary healthcare services, especially for high-risk groups. The results can serve as a reference for policy making in hypertension management at FKTP.
Management of Hazardous and Toxic Solid Waste in healthcare facilities is crucial as it significantly impacts service quality and environmental health. According to Indonesia’s 2022 environmental statistics, healthcare facilities contributed 726,817 tons of hazardous and toxic waste, but only 48,464 tons were managed. Universitas Indonesia Hospital (RSUI) has established quality indicators to assess the compliance of hazardous solid waste management with applicable regulations. However, the target for achieving these indicators was not met throughout 2024. This study employed in-depth interviews, observations, and document reviews. The information obtained was then analyzed using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify the root causes of the issues. The quality indicators for hazardous and toxic solid waste management at RSUI comprise several criteria based on the management process: minimization, segregation and containment, collection, storage, and transportation of hazardous and toxic solid waste. The study revealed five root causes for the failure to meet the quality indicators for hazardous and toxic solid waste management at RSUI. First, socialization efforts are not conducted regularly but are only triggered by a decline in employee awareness regarding medical waste segregation. Second, the procurement of large trash bins is not prioritized. Third, the budget is limited for meeting the demand for cleaning service officers (CSOs). Fourth, the repair process for weighing scales by the facility unit takes a long time. Lastly, pharmacy warehouse management for incoming medication is not optimized.

Among these, the bedroom ventilation area was identified as the most dominant factor influencing ARI incidence. This study highlights that most ARI risk factors for children under five in Sukamaju Baru Village are related to the physical environment of the home. Therefore, further efforts are needed to improve the prevalence of healthy homes in the area, with a primary focus on increasing ventilation area.
One of the causes of infant mortality in Indonesia is infection. Immunization is an effective way to provide additional immunity to infants, protecting them from infections. Low immunization coverage can potentially lead to outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases (VPD). Therefore, strategies are needed to catch up, recover, and strengthen the system sustainably, thereby increasing basic immunization coverage. The objective of this study was to identify factors associated with the status of complete basic immunization among children in Indonesia. The study design used was cross-sectional, utilizing data from the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (SKI). Statistical analysis was performed using the chi-square test. The study results found that the proportion of complete basic immunization coverage in Indonesia was only 32.4%. Statistical analysis showed that mother’s age (PR: 1,958; 95% CI: 1,15-3,33), maternal education level (PR: 1.30; 95% CI: 1.18–1.44), ownership of health insurance (PR: 1.25; 95% CI: 1.41–1.38), place of delivery (PR: 2.25; 95% CI: 1.77–2.86), frequency of ANC visits (PR: 1.61; 95% CI: 1.47–1.77), residence location (PR: 1.52; 95% CI: 1.38–1.67), and paternal education level (PR: 1.20; 95% CI: 1.09–1.32) were associated with the status of complete basic immunization in Indonesia.
