Tidak sampai 28% dari mereka yang menggunakan kondom secara konsisten. Pada populasi remaja umum di Indonesia, sebanyak 30%-nya tidak tahu bahwa kondom dapat mencegah kehamilan dan 40%-nya tidak tahu kondom dapat mencegah infeksi menular seksual (IMS). Studi potong lintang dari analisis SDKI 2012 ini berupaya melihat asosiasi pengetahuan tentang fungsi kondom terhadap penggunaan kondom pada remaja laki-laki pelaku hubungan seksual pranikah. Hasilnya, setelah memperhitungkan faktor demografis, pengetahuan kespro, dan perilaku lainnya, penggunaan kondom lebih tinggi pada responden yang memiliki pengetahuan tentang kedua fungsi kondom (PR 2,38; 95% CI 1,47 – 3,85) dibandingkan responden yang hanya tahu salah satu fungsi atau tidak tahu sama sekali. ABSTRACT Name : Lhuri Dwianti Rahmartani Study Program : Epidemiology Major : Clinical Epidemiology Judul : Association between Knowledge of Condom Functions and Condom Use among Sexually-active Unmarried Male Adolescents in Indonesia: Analysis of Indonesia Demographic and Health Survey 2012 The increasing trend of premarital sex among Indonesian male adolescents is not accompanied with protective behavior. Less than 28% of sexually-active unmarried male adolescents use condoms consistently. Approximately, 30% of Indonesian adolescents do not know that condoms can help prevent pregnancy and 40% of them do not know that condoms can help prevent sexually transmitted infections (STIs). This cross-sectional study using IDHS 2012 aims to see whether there is an association between knowledge on condom functions and condom use, particularly among unmarried male adolescents in Indonesia. After controlling with other covariates such as demographic, knowledge on reproductive health, and other behavior indicators, the prevalence of condom use is significantly higher in respondents who know both functions of condoms, than in respondents who only know either function or not at all (adjusted PR 2,38; 95% CI 1,47 – 3,85). Based on IDHS 2017, there is an increase in the prevalence of premarital sexual intercourse among adolescents aged 15-24 years. IDHS 2017 as many as 8% of male adolescents and 2% of female adolescents have had sexual intercourse compared to the 2012 IDHS data as many as 7% of boys and 1% of female adolescents premarital sexual relations. This study aims to determine the effect of peers on premarital sexual relations behavior of adolescents aged 15-24 years in Indonesia using the IDHS 2017 with cross sectional design. Sample of 12,363 adolescents who meet the criteria for male adolescents and female aged 15-24 years, have currently dating, having peers, and having friends with premarital sexual experiences. Data were analyzed using multiple regression logistic tests using the SPSS program. The results showed that 8.4% of adolescents who are currently or have been dating have had premarital sexual intercourse and 21.9% of adolescents have had a bad influence on their peer sexual behavior. The results of the analysis show that there is peer influence on premarital sexual intercourse behavior, adolescents who get influence from their peer sexual behavior have 4 times the risk of having premarital sexual intercourse compared with adolescents who are not influenced by peers after being controlled by attitudes towards premarital sexual behavior, dating style and a history of alcohol consumption. Efforts are needed to increase youth involvement in more useful activities so that they can create a good social environment and can prevent adolescents from the sexual behavior of peers
Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah remaja berusia 15 hingga 24 tahun yang belum menikah di Indonesia. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 23.770 remaja (13.079 remaja laki-laki dan 10.691 remaja perempuan). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 7.6% remaja laki-laki dan 1.4% remaja perempuan di Indonesia terlibat praktik seksual pranikah pada tahun 2017.
Adolescents experience physical, emotional, and social development changes that marks the displacement phase ofchildhood into adulthood. As a form of social developmental changes the desire of adolescents to engage with othersincluding peer that may affect adolescent positively and negatively. The study was conducted to determine therelationship of peers on adolescent sexual behavior. The study uses cross-sectional study design and the dataIndonesia Demographic Health Survey 2012. The study has an inclusion criteria which is adolescents who have orare dating so the number of samples obtained for teens 16679. Results showed that adolescents who have or aredating have been friends intercourse can increase the risk 4,2 times higher for sexual intercourse compared withteens who do not have any friends with sexual experience after other variables are controlled. Adolescents who feelcompelled by friends who've sexual intercourse can also increase the risk 6,2 times higher for sexual intercoursecompared with teens who do not feel compelled by peer sexual experiences. Other variables that play a role inadolescent sexual behavior are gender, age, smoking status, alcohol, drug consumption, and media of exposure.
