The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is an important aspect in efforts to prevent and control infections that can occur in hospitals, namely to prevent the dangers of nosocomial infections or HAIs (Hospital Acquired Infections), especially for hospital laundry officers who manage linen and have direct contact with sources of infection, namely infectious linen. The incidence of HAIs in Indonesia reached the highest prevalence rate in Southeast Asia, namely 30.4% in 2022. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes with the behavior of using personal protective equipment (PPE) in laundry officers in linen management at Pontianak City Hospital. This study uses a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional study design. The data source for this study is primary data using a questionnaire. This study was conducted in July-August 2024 at a Hospital in Pontianak City. The sample in this study was 51 laundry officers at Pontianak City Hospital using a total sampling technique. The results of the study showed that most laundry officers had a low average knowledge score of 5.73 and a high average attitude score of 9.25. Statistically, it was found that there was no significant relationship between knowledge (p value = 0.122) and attitude (p value = 0.402) with the behavior of using PPE in laundry officers. It is recommended that the hospital pay more attention and play a role in improving the knowledge of laundry officers through more even training or education, facilitating complete PPE and supervision in the Laundry Unit and there needs to be a role from the West Kalimantan Provincial Health Office or the Pontianak City Health Office to improve supervision and competence of laundry officers at the Pontianak City Hospital. This study aims to determine the associated between social determinants and functional nutrition literacy in first-year regular undergraduate students at Halu Oleo University. This research using cross-sectional, that takes data from Health Literacy Study 2019 at Halu Oleo University, Southeast Sulawesi Province (n=359). The measuremenet of nutritional literacy was carried out using The Newest Vital Sign (NVS), containing 6 questions regarding adapted nutrition labels. The analysis used multiple linier regressin, with functional nutrition literacy as the dependent variable and social determinants such as gender, ethnicity, residence status, pocket money, access to health services, and access to health information as independent variables. The results showed that the functional nutrition literacy level of the students was inadequate (M=2,47; SD=1,285). The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed a significant relationship between functional nutrition literacy scores and social determinantas, gender (β=0,30, p=0,019). These results indicate a weak relationship between social determinants and functional nutrition literacy. And efforts are needed to develop education related to nutrition labels to assist students to improve functional nutritional literacy
Nutrition literacy is one of the predictors of non-comunicable diseases; however, research around nutrition literacy assessment is lacking in Indonesia, including among its welleducated population. This study aimed to examine the determinants of nutrition literacy among first year undergraduate students of the University of Pattimura, Maluku. Using data derived from the Health Literacy Study 2019, six determinants of nutrition literacy (i.e., sex, weekly expenditure, living place status, perceived ethnic diversity, social participation and education programs) were analyzed. Nutrition literacy was measured using the adapted 6-item Newest Vital Signs. Descriptive statistic of frequency, mean and median was used to describe each of the main variables. The non-parametric MannWhitney was performed to examine the association between independent and dependent variables. Linear regression linear was used to analyze association between independent variables and nutriton literacy. Of the 382 participants, the average score of nutrition literacy was 2,31 (SD=1,30), with more than half of them have inadequate nutrition literacy (54,7%) compare to those who have adequate nutrition literacy (45,3%). Perceived ethnic diversity was the only social determinant that significantly associates with nutrition literacy. Future research exploring association of other social determinants to nutrition literacy is recommended
