IDHS-ARH 2017 reveals a decrease in the intention to use contraception, which mainly occurs in youth men. This study aims to obtain a determinant of the intention to use contraception in unmarried men aged 15-24 years in urban and rural areas of Indonesia. Design of this research is a cross sectional. Data were analyzed using logistic regression. Results: The proportion that expressed a intention to use contraception in the future was 76% in urban and 71.2% in rural areas. Determinant of the intention to use contraception in urban areas are influenced by the highest level of education, exposure to information preventing pregnancy from school, exposure to information preventing pregnancy from television, knowledge related to preventing pregnancy, attitudes toward condoms, perception of the ideal age of having a first child, perception of the ideal number of children. As for rural areas, it is influenced by the highest level of education (respondents who graduated from high school), exposure to information to prevent pregnancy from television, knowledge related to preventing pregnancy, attitude to condoms, perception of the ideal number of children. The perception of the ideal number of children is the dominant factor for intention to use contraception in urban areas, while in rural areas attitudes toward condoms are the dominant factor for intention to use contraception.
One of population problems currently faced in Indonesia is high rate of Unmetneed for family planning. In General, the percentage of unmet need in urbanareas lower than rural, but urban trends actually increased while the countrysidehas experienced a downturn.The aims of this research is to identify the factorsassociated with the incidence of unmet need for family planning in urban and ruralareas. The design used is cross sectional by analyzing the SDKI data 2012. Thesample of this research is the fertile woman aged 15-49 year who marriage orlive together with patner, totalling 24.510 respondents. Multivariateanalysis performed with logistic regression. The results showed that the incidenceof unmet need in urban areas 16 % and in rural areas 15.1%. Factors related to theincidence of unmet need in urban areas is the mother's education, age, education,economic level, the husband's residence (togetherness), knowledge and the idealnumber of children, and the most dominant touch is age. Whereas the factorsassociated with the incidence of unmet need in rural areas is the age, education,economic level, the husband's residence (togetherness), knowledge and the idealnumber of children, and the most dominant touch is the residence (living being).Providing better information about family planning and more persuasionespecially for women 35 years and more are needed. Education more intense forwoman living apart from husband should be hold. In the 2017 IDHS study, prevalence of male adolescents who had premarital sexual relationships in Indonesia in 2017 was 8%, while based on the 2003 IDHS only 4,9% the prevalence of male adolescents who had premarital sexual relations. This has increased from the previous year’s data. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between attitudes toward premarital sex with premarital sexual practices in young men in Indonesia by analyzing IDHS 2017 data. Design of this research used cross sectional study, sample wich suitable from inclusion and exclusion criteria was 10.849 respondens. The results showed the proportion of male adolescents who engage in premarital sexual practices is 8,4%. The multivariate results of attitude towards premarital sex with premarital sexual practices have a p-value 0,001 with a POR 17,618 (95% CI 13,707-22,645), this means that male adolescent who have an agreed attitude towards premarital sex have an 18 times risk of having premarital sex compared to male adolescent who have disagreeing attitude towards premarital sex.
