The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) estimates that in year 2020 the rate of new cancer cases will increase up to 300% to an estimated 27 million people with 17 million estimated to die. At that time, there will be approximately 75 million people in the world who suffer from cancer where 70% of the cancer patients will be from developing countries. With the increasing amount of cancer patients throughout the world, the usage of radiotherapy will also increase. In reality, although the process has been very tightly controlled and supervised, accidents caused by an overdose of radiation exposure still occurs. From a number of radiation accidents, it has been found that the cause is not only due to technical factors, but that planning and administration also plays a role. This factor will be magnified with the increasing work load the radiotherapy operators have to handle with the total patients exceeding the capacity of the available equipment. The purpose of this research is to develop a work health and safety program at XYZ hospital, not only for the safety of the radiation technicians (occupational exposure) and public safety (public exposure) but also and especially for the patients safety (medical exposure). The development of the program is done by identifying all the dangers as well as conducting a risk analysis on each step of the process of providing radiotherapy services. To get an overall picture of the implementation of the health management and safety system, the evaluation is made against the OHSAS 1800:2007 and the IAEA Safety Requirement GS-R-3. Based on the risk analysis and the "gap" analysis with OHSAS 18002:2007 and the IAEA GS-R-3, to reduce the risks identified, the risk management recommendations made are more for the procedural management as well as the continuous development of the manpower competency.
Quantitative descriptive study with cross-sectional survey design of the study and the Perception of the Cardiovascular Disease Prevention Efforts in XY employees, using the concept of Health belief model, examines perceived susceptibilit), perceived severity , perceived benefits ,perceived barriers and knowledge as a modifying factor. The low perception of susceptibility of employees can be a reason for the lack of exercise ( Physical Inactive ). Of statistical calculations with Spearman correlation, there is a significant correlation between perceived barrier to exercise behavior of employees with p = 0.002 and r = -0297.
This study aims to develop Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) as community service by leadership principles approach and community participation through mechanism of HSE Committee establishment by combining indicators that support HSE Committee establishment at FKM UI. This study was descriptive qualitative research with in-depth interviews, documents review and observations methods using the logical framework approach. Informen in this study were a representative of the stakeholders involved in the establishment of HSE at FKM UI. The results showed that the HSE Committee FKM UI does not have a budget for supportting the HSE program as well as HSE improvement and risk control which are the findings throughout the year and it is recommended to put into the Annual Work Plan and Budget (AWPB) of each Department or Units. The HSE Committee FKM UI also does not have the legalization decree, HSE policy as well as guidelines or manuals of HSE Committee that is signed by the Top Management. It is recommended that Dean of FKM UI immediately establish and ratify in writing the HSE Committee, HSE policy and manual, and communicated to all parties so that everyone knowns, understands and implements their respective obligations and roles in the organization and have the same commitment to the policy set.
Disease hypercholesterolemia, hypertension and smoking behavior is a risk factorfor coronary heart disease (CHD), which became the number one killer disease inthe world (Dilley: 2000). Based on experimental research, epidemiology, andclinical states that the role of high cholesterol, and smoking habits affect theincidence of coronary heart disease (Allen: 2001). Based on data from the healthexamination at company PT ZA compared with South Kalimantan condition thatCHD risk factors (total cholesterol, smoking and blood pressure) is still highenough to do health promotion interventions. This intervention aims to determinethe degree of reduction in risk of coronary heart disease (CHD) after the mediahealth promotion intervention group A and group B media in miners in SouthKalimantan PT ZA Year 2014. Kind of research is quantitative quasi-experimental research design. These results are a significant decrease between total cholesterol measurementresults before the intervention to after intervention in group A, a significantdecrease between the results of measurements of changes in smoking behaviorbefore the intervention to after intervention in group A and in group B, there wasno reduction significant in systolic blood pressure before and after theintervention in group A, whereas no significant reduction in systolic bloodpressure sebelumm and after intervention in group B, a significant decreasebetween the results of measurements of diastolic blood pressure changes betweenthe pre-intervention to post-intervention in group A and group B, a significantdifference in the reduction in CHD risk factors between the before to afterintervention in group A and B batches, there are significant differences betweenthe use of a more effective medium than in medium B in the intervention and riskfactor reduction in total cholesterol reduction. Health promotion interventionsusing media booklet, counseling, nutrition counseling, health seminars able todeliver positive changes in health behavior changes.
Office is one of the places at risk of transmission of COVID-19. Several cases of COVID-19 in DKI Jakarta are dominated by office clusters. To overcome this, the implementation of good preventive behavior is the main key in breaking the chain of virus spread. The study aims to analyze the determinants of behavior to prevent transmission of COVID-19 in office workers in DKI Jakarta. This research is a quantitative research with a cross sectional design. Data was collected online using questionnaire. A total of 152 office workers in Jakarta participated in this study. The results showed that the respondent's preventive behavior against COVID-19 is quite good. 61.2% of respondents had good behavior, and 38.8% had poor behavior. Statistical tests showed that perceived risk (p= 0.013), perceived barriers (p= 0.001), availability of facilities (0.002), and management support (p= 0.001) were associated with COVID-19 prevention behavior. Therefore, effective education is needed, the provision of adequate infrastructure, and supportive management support to improve worker behavior in preventing COVID-19.
