According to estimates of the International Labour Organization (ILO), at the global level more than 2.78 million people die per year from occupational accidents or work-related diseases. Based on data released by BPJS, work accidents in construction increased from 114,000 in 2019 to 177,000 accidents in 2020. This study aims to determine the level of maturity of safety culture in workers at PT. XYZ. Research is semi-quantitative with a descriptive research design. The data collected from the results of the FGD, Questionnaire, document review & Observation was then carried out an in-depth analysis. There are 19 variables that will be tested in this study. Based on the results of measuring the level of maturity of safety culture obtained by PT. XYZ is at the calculative level with the majority of variables being at the calculative level except the K3L reward variable, training &compensatory, application and use of the standard are at the reactive level. Based on the criteria of 20 variables tested in this study, the maturity level of pt. XYZ is at the level of being calculative, which is to enter the starting point in the direction of a culture of safety.
Fatigue is a consequence of work which decreases physical and mental work capacity and is one of the factors causing accidents in the construction field. Fatigue can occur in workers of various age ranges, including young workers aged 15-24 years. This study aims to analyze risk factors for fatigue including age, nutritional status (Body Mass Index), health status, work period, hours of work, rest periods, exercise habits, caffeine consumption, alcohol consumption, smoking habits, sleep quality, job satisfaction, demands in the workplace, control of work, social support and work stress on work fatigue itself in young workers on construction projects. The study was conducted on young workers of PT. ABC in Bali (3 construction projects), involving 212 young workers. The design of this study is a semi-quantitative analytic with cross-sectional study. The instruments used include the Industrial Fatigue Research Committee (IFRC), the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), the Sleep Hygiene Index to view sleep hygiene and the adaptation questionnaire from Copenhagen for further assessment and improvement to prevent ongoing fatigue that is Psychosocial Questionnaire-III. The results showed that most respondents in the category of moderate fatigue (69.34%. In general, fatigue among young workers in the construction sector in conditions of need is a critical risk of work accidents.
The probability of work accidents in the construction sector are still high while the challenges ahead are even greater. Construction industri is one of the dominant factors in the national development strategy and facing global markets. Organizational commitment in implementing occupational safety and health management system can reduce the number of workplace accidents and create a safe environment for work. This study examines the level of commitment and evaluates the application of occupational safety and health in construction company, namely PT X. This study was a descriptive analytic research with in-depth analysis based on in depth interviews. The main variables of this research are considered to obligation of Republic of Indonesia OHSMS regulation, those are organizational structure and policy. The commitment set by the company is compared with the consistency of its implementation at three stages of work on the project those are preparation, execution and post construction. This research obtained that the company’s commitment is administratively high however the consistency is still medium because the application was not optimal in the field. In the evaluation found several gaps, those are client enforcement, role models, monitoring and communication scheme that must be improved.
Construction is one of the sectors that has a high risk of work accidents, in 2020 this sector has 55.2% accident rate. Human factor is one of the factors causing work accidents, 70% of work accidents occur due to unsafe actions. The purpose of this study is to see the Project Z PT X risk perception level, the relationship between independent and dependent variable, and to explain the condition of risk perception that has been run by Project Z. This research is a semi-quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. The population of this study was 82 people with a sample size of 67 people. The results showed that most workers perception in Project Z were bad (55.7%). Risk voluntarily, immediacy of effect, knowledge of risk, catastrophic potential, and severity of consequences have the largest bad percentage, and there is a significant relationship on all research variables. Multivariate analysis explained that 4 variables had the most significant relationship, namely immediacy of effect, catastrophic potential, common dread, and severity of consequences. For short-term solutions, Project Z can improve supervision on high risk categorized job, for long term Project Z can improve hazard and risk identification and communicating them to all workers
Scaffolding is an inseparable part of a construction work. Scaffolding work contributes to the emergence of risk factors for skeletal muscle disorders due to work (gotrak) or musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). The purpose of this study was to analyze the risk factors for the occurrence of scaffolding at PT X. This type of research was crosssectional with 156 employees as respondents at PT X. Ergonomics risk factor assessment in the workplace is carried out with an approach to assessing the level of occupational risk and subjective complaints of workers. Respondents provided information on individual characteristics, ergonomic risks using the method (Rapid Entire Body Assessment or REBA) with the results achieving high and very high scores. The level of ergonomics risk shows that 66.23% of respondents are in the high risk category and 33.77% of the respondents are in the low risk category. The analysis of cough complaints on workers using the Nordic Body Map questionnaire resulted in the 3 highest complaints, namely neck, shoulders and hands/wrist. This study shows that the risk factors for the occurrence of Gotrak scaffold workers at PT X at 12 months old are age 30 years OR 1.91 (95% CI 1.37-3.25), working period 10 years OR 2.42 (95 % CI 1.39-4.19), awkward posture OR 6.24 (95% CI 2.40-16.21). While the risk factors for gotrak that caused the absence of the last 12 months are age 30 years OR 1.32 (95% CI 1.18-1.76), years of service ≥ 10 years OR 1.65 (95% CI 1.03-2.65), type of work OR 10.98 (95% CI 4.2628.26), REBA score 2.53 (1.78-3.00), demands at work OR 1.65 (95% CI 1.02-2.51), work organization and job contents OR1.44 (95% CI 1.28-2.93, for risk factors for the last 7 days, namely type of work OR 2.79 (95% CI 1.28-6.07), health and wellbeingOR 1.43 (95% CI 1.09-1.84).
This Thesis exploring about fall from height case analysis in high rise building construction project start with planning, design and engineering control, and construction operation. Research design with case study with phenomenology approach to look deeper and details. Data analysis with thematic network analysis. Result from the research show three organize theme having constraint is work method, risk identified, and risk evaluation. Therefore, in design phase and engineering control similar constrain likewise construction operation with permit to work
