Karakteristik responden menunjukkan Sebagian besar berpendidikan tinggi (72,2%), pengetahuan gizi baik (59,5%), aktivitas fisik kurang (93,7%), durasi tidur cukup (77,0%), tingkat stres tinggi (65,1%) berstatus perokok (95,2%), dan memiliki riwayat konsumsi alkohol (58,7%).
Overnutrition occurs when the body receives excess energy intake beyond its needs, which is then stored as fat. This condition is a risk factor for non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and coronary heart disease, and in the long term can develop into metabolic syndrome, leading to reduced quality of life and increased risk of mortality. This study aimed to analyze factors associated with overnutrition among prison inmates, including energy, carbohydrate, protein, and fat intake, education level, physical activity, nutritional knowledge, sleep duration, smoking status, stress level, and history of alcohol consumption. This study used a cross-sectional design with overnutrition as the dependent variable and energy intake, carbohydrate, protein, fat, education level, nutritional knowledge, physical activity, sleep duration, stress level, smoking status, and history of alcohol consumption as independent variables. Data were collected from 126 respondents who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria through direct interviews and questionnaire completion. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis with the Chi-square test. The prevalence of overnutrition among respondents was 52.4%. Most respondents had normal energy intake (93.7%), carbohydrate (92.9%), protein (95.2%), and fat (65.1%). The majority had high education (72.2%), good nutritional knowledge (59.5%), insufficient physical activity (93.7%), adequate sleep duration (77.0%), high stress levels (65.1%), smoking status (95.2%), and history of alcohol consumption (58.7%). Bivariate analysis showed significant associations between energy intake (p = 0.027; OR = 0.116) and sleep duration (p = 0.042; OR = 2.464) with overnutrition. Other variables including carbohydrate, protein, and fat intake, education level, nutritional knowledge, smoking status, alcohol consumption history, and stress level showed no significant associations. Energy intake and sleep duration are factors significantly associated with overnutrition among prison inmates. Therefore, correctional facilities are advised to conduct regular nutritional status monitoring, improve food quality, provide nutritious food options in the canteen, and organize nutrition education and physical activity programs routinely. The Ministry of Health is expected to expand nutrition programs to reach prison inmates through collaboration with the Directorate General of Corrections.

Blood pressure control refers to a condition that describes the systolic and diastolic blood pressure of hypertensive patients. This condition can result from the compliance or non-compliance of hypertensive patients with lifestyle modifications and pharmacological therapy. A study found that the rate of blood pressure control among hypertensive patients in Indonesia is less than 25%. The coverage of hypertension healthcare services and the prevalence of taking antihypertensive medication are also low. If this situation persists without proper intervention, it can increase the risk of morbidity and mortality in hypertensive patients. This study aims to determine the relationship between sodium intake and other factors with blood pressure control among hypertensive patients in the working area of UPTD Puskesmas Kemiri Muka, Depok City in 2023. This study is secondary research deriving from a primary study titled “Relationship between Coffee Drinking Habits and Other Factors with Blood Pressure Control in Hypertensive Patients at the Kemiri Muka Public Health Center 2023”. This study is quantitative with a cross-sectional study design involving 156 hypertensive patients aged ≥ 18 years in the working area of UPTD Puskesmas Kemiri Muka, Depok in 2023. Data analysis in this study was conducted using the chi-square test and multiple logistic regression method. The result of this study found that 68,6% of hypertensive patients had uncontrolled blood pressure. The chi-square test analysis found no significant relationship between sodium intake, physical activity, sleep duration, medication adherence, knowledge about hypertension, sex, household income, nutritional status, and social support (p-value > 0,05) with blood pressure control among hypertensive patients. However, there was a significant relationship between age (p-value 0,001) with blood pressure control among hypertensive patients. Meanwhile, multiple logistic regression analyses found that there was no significant relationship between sodium intake with blood pressure control among hypertensive patients. However, the blood pressure control in hypertensive patients is influenced by age (p-value 0,000) and sleep duration (p-value 0,048) after being controlled by confounding variables, namely physical activity, medication adherence, knowledge about hypertension, household income, and nutritional status. Therefore, it is recommended to implement intervention and management for hypertensive patients by emphasizing hypertensive patient categories at higher risk of having uncontrolled blood pressure, namely adults and those with short sleep duration. However, attention should still be given to other factors such as adequate sodium intake, sufficient physical activity, strong medication adherence, comprehensive knowledge about hypertension, optimal nutritional status, and good social support.

Central obesity is one of the increasing health problems in the middle-adult age group. Lifestyle factors such as nutrient intake, physical activity, sleep duration, and emotional mental health are thought to contribute to this condition. This study aims to analyze the dominant factors in the incidence of central obesity in adults aged 40–59 years in Kemayoran District, Central Jakarta. The study used a Cross Sectional with a quantitative approach and involved primary data collection through interviews and anthropometric measurements. The results of the multivariate test showed that excessive fat intake was the most dominant factor in the incidence of central obesity (p = 0.018; OR = 2.940; 95% CI = 1.206–7.168). Respondents with excessive fat intake had a 2.94 times greater risk of experiencing central obesity compared to respondents who were not excessive. Excessive fat consumption will be easily stored as visceral fat in the abdominal cavity, which directly contributes to an increase in waist circumference. Other factors such as energy intake, carbohydrates, protein, fiber, physical activity, sleep duration, and emotional mental health were also included in the multivariate model. These findings emphasize the importance of controlling fat consumption as a primary strategy for preventing central obesity in this age group.
