Work distress among Electric Rail Train (KRL) drivers is an important issue in urban mass transportation systems because it has the potential to reduce operational safety, work performance, and workers’ psychological well-being. The increasing number of KRL passengers in the Greater Jakarta area, accompanied by high operational demands, shift work systems, punctuality pressure, and technology-based work complexity, is suspected to increase psychosocial hazard exposure among train drivers. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between personal risk factors and occupational risk factors with work distress among KRL drivers of PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia in the Greater Jakarta operational area in 2026. This study employed a quantitative design with a descriptive-analytic and cross-sectional approach. The study population consisted of 440 train drivers, with a sample of 231 respondents selected using a quota accidental sampling technique. Data were collected using structured questionnaires, including the NIOSH Generic Job Stress Questionnaire (NIOSH GJSQ), ICAWS, NASA-TLX, JCQ, Job Insecurity Questionnaire, and IFRC. Data analysis was conducted using univariate analysis, bivariate analysis with simple Poisson regression to obtain the Prevalence Ratio (PR), and multivariate analysis using modified Poisson regression with robust variance at a 95% confidence level. The results showed that 47.2% of train drivers experienced work distress. Personal factors such as age, marital status, educational level, years of service, and health status were not significantly associated with work distress, while work fatigue was only significant in the bivariate analysis. Occupational factors including workplace conflict, excessive workload, low workload, job control, and job security were significantly associated with work distress in the bivariate analysis. However, multivariate analysis revealed that only workplace conflict (p=0.012: Adjusted PR=0.896: 95% CI=0.822–0.976) and job security (p<0.001: Adjusted PR=0.803: 95% CI=0.744–0.866) were dominant factors associated with work distress among KRL drivers in the Greater Jakarta area. This study concludes that nearly half of KRL drivers experienced work distress and that occupational factors were the primary determinants. Therefore, Occupational Health and Safety based interventions are needed to control psychosocial hazards, strengthen job security, and create a supportive work environment in order to improve operational safety and the psychological well-being of train drivers. The high number of unsafe act prevalence could yield incidents whichcause lose financially to company. The aim of this study is to analyse factors thatcorrelated to unsafe act of workers in preparation and assembling department. This research was conducted in PT X on April to July 2016. These factors dividedinto two categories, personal factors (knowledge, work experience, and educationlevel) and job factors (OHS Information and Supervision). The result shows that72,92% of workers have performed unsafe act in which 61,7% of it is high riskand 38,3% low risk. Moreover, there are siginificant correlations betweeneducation level, knowledge, and availibity of OHS information with unsafe actwhereas education level predominantly contributes to unsafe act after has beencontrolled with other factors. Therefore, company should commit several attemptsto reduce unsafe act on its workers.Keyword : unsafe act, shoes manufacturer, manufactur
This study aims to analyze the safety climate profile and determine the relationship between personal characteristics and safety climate among personnel at Sector IX of the Fire and Rescue Department, Jagakarsa District. Employing a quantitative approach with a descriptive cross-sectional design, primary data was collected through the Fire Service Safety climate Scale questionnaire from 72 officers using a total sampling technique. Univariate analysis was used to describe the safety climate profile, while bivariate analysis utilized the Spearman correlation test for ordinal-scaled personal characteristics (age group, education level, years of service, employment status, position) and the Chi-Square test and Odds Ratio for nominal-scaled personal characteristics (injury experience). The results indicate that the overall safety climate at Sector IX of the Fire and Rescue Department, Jagakarsa District, is categorized as high (average score 3.88). The Supervisor Support dimension (average score 4.02) is higher than Management Commitment (average score 3.73), indicating a perception gap. A significant positive relationship was found between safety climate and age group (ρ=0.274, p=0.020), education level (ρ=0.325, p=0.005), and years of service (ρ=0.327, p=0.005). Conversely, there was a significant negative relationship with employment status (ρ=−0.304, p=0.010), where civil servants tended to have a lower perception of safety climate. Position (ρ=−0.212, p=0.074) showed no significant relationship. Furthermore, there was a significant relationship between injury experience and safety climate (χ2=14.015, p=0.001), where officers with a history of injury were 20.5 times more likely to rate the safety climate as 'Sufficient'. This study is expected to provide a comprehensive overview of the safety climate and its relationship with personal characteristics, as well as contribute to the improvement of occupational safety at Sector IX of the Fire and Rescue Department, Jagakarsa District.
