Toddlers are a risk group for difficult eating problems. This is because at that age, the child?s anatomy has developed. This study aims to determine the relationship between family income, knowledge of complementary foods, and family feeding practices with the incidence of eating difficulties in the toddler population in Mother Community Jabodetabek. This research is a quantitative research with a cross sectional study design conducted on 151 respondents. The data used in this study is primary data and data collection was done online using an online questionnaire. The data were analyzed by univariate and bivariate (using chi-square test). The results showed that there were 60.9% of toddlers who had eating difficulties. This study founded that there was a significant relationship between knowledge of complementary foods, introduction of complementary foods, food control, child involvement, and role models with the incidence of difficulty eating in toddlers with p value <0.05.
Di era globalisasi ini banyak terjadi masalah gizi ganda. Masalah ini terutama banyak terjadi di negara berkembang dan negara miskin. Masalah gizi ganda adalah munculnya masalah gizi lebih dengan gizi kurang juga masih menjadi masalah di negara tersebut. Masalah gizi lebih ini terjadi karena makanan murah yang dikonsumsi banyak mengandung tinggi gula, tinggi lemak, tinggi garam dan tinggi kalori yang dapat menyebabkan kegemukan terutama pada anak-anak. Kegemukan pada anak-anak akan menyebabkan menyebabkan timbulnya risiko penyakit degeneratif seperti penyakit kardiovaskuler, diabetes mellitus, dan lain-lain kelak jika mereka dewasa nanti. Masa anak-anak merupakan masa yang penting untuk proses tumbuh kembangnya, untuk itu sangat diperlukan konsumsi makanan yang mengandung zatzat gizi yang diperlukan oleh tubuh anak-anak sesuai dengan kebutuhannya. Jika berlebihan akan menimbulkan dampak yang buruk bagi anak-anak. Konsumsi makanan pada anak-anak ditentukan dari apa yang mereka konsumsi sejak dini. Makanan yang pertama kali dikonsumsi oleh anak-anak adalah air susu ibu (ASI). ASI diketahui banyak mengandung gizi penting yang dibutuhkan oleh bayi, untuk itu pemerintah dan World Health Organization (WHO) merekomendasikan untuk memberikan ASI eksklusif selama enam bulan kehidupan pertama bayi. ASI juga diketahui memiliki efek protektif terhadap kegemukan pada anak. Berdasarkan uraian di atas, penulis tertarik untuk mengkaji mengenai hubungan antara konsumsi ASI eksklusif dan faktor lainnya dengan kejadian kegemukan pada anak usia 6-23 bulan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan data sekunder Riset Kesehatan Dasar (Riskesdas) 2010. Desain penelitian Riskesdas 2010 adalah cross sectional (potong lintang). Analisis data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis univariat, bivariat dan multivariat. Variabel dependen yang akan diteliti dalam penelitian ini adalah status kegemukan pada anak usia 6-23 bulan berdasarkan IMT/U. Dalam penelitian ini didapatkan hasil proporsi kegemukan pada anak usia 623 bulan adalah 22,6% dan proporsi ASI eksklusif sebesar 19,9%. Dari hasil uji chisquare diketahui tidak ada hubungan bermakna antara ASI eksklusif dengan kegemukan, sedangkan hubungan yang bermakna ditemukan pada variabel berat lahir, pekerjaan ibu dan pengeluaran keluarga. Faktor yang paling berhubungan dari semua variabel independen yang diteliti adalah berat lahir. Kata kunci : Usia 6-23 bulan, Kegemukan, ASI eksklusif, Indonesia
Globalization era has make a double burden on nutrition problem. This problems happened in the develeloped and poor country. Double burden on nutrition is a problem with overnutrition has come while the undernutrition still become a problem. Overnutrition arise because a children consume cheap food that contain of high sugar, high fat, high salt and high calory that can cause a degenerative diseases such as cardiovaskuler, diabetes mellitus when they grow up later. Children period plays an important role for their development and growth, and for that they need the food that contain of nutrition that they need. If it more than they need, it will become a bad impact for the child. For babies, the first food that they consume is breastmilk. Breastmilk has been known as an important nutrition for the baby so that the World Health Organization has recommend to give breastmilk only for the first six months of their early life. Breastmilk has a protective effect for overweight on child. Based on that reason, the writer interested to analyze the association between breastfeeding and other factors with overweight on children ages 6-23 months in Indonesia 2010. This research is a quantitative research using a secondary data from health research 2010 (Riskesdas 2010). Riskesdas 2010 design is a cross sectional. Data analysis are univariat, bivariat and multivariat. The dependent variable is an overweight status based on Basal Metabolism Index per Age (BMI/Age). This research has found that overweight proportion is 22,6% while the breastfeeding proportion is 19,9%. Chi-Square test has found that there is no relationship between breastfeeding with overweight while the significant relationship has been found on birth weight, mother occupation and family expenses. ABSTRAK Nama : Gladys Apriluana Program Studi : Ilmu Kesehatan Masyarakat Judul : Hubungan Pemberian MPASI dengan Kejadian Stunting pada Balita Usia 24 Bulan di Kecamatan Pagedangan Kabupaten Tangerang Tahun 2019 Pembimbing : Dr drg. Sandra Fikawati, MPH Latar belakang: Stunting adalah masalah kurang gizi kronis yang banyak diderita balita di Indonesia. Kecamatan Pagedangan memiliki jumlah balita kurang gizi masih tinggi. Faktor penting pada pertumbuhan anak adalah asupan gizi. MPASI yang diberikan setelah balita berusia 6 bulan harus beraneka ragam dan adekuat, sehingga dapat memenuhi kebutuhan dalam mencapai pertumbuhan yang optimal. Sayangnya, di Indonesia sulit untuk mencapai asupan gizi cukup dari MPASI yang umumnya berbasis tradisional dan tidak difortifikasi. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui hubungan antara Metode: Penelitian dilakukan dengan disain kasus kontrol dan rasio sampel 1:1,5. Penelitian dilakukan dari Maret-Mei 2019. Populasi adalah balita usia 24 bulan. Total sampel sebanyak 100 anak. Hasil: Hasil analisis bivariat menunjukkan ada hubungan yang signifikan antara pemberian MPASI (p=0,033) dan pekerjaan ibu (p=0,040) dengan kejadian stunting. Hasil analisis multivariat menunjukkan variabel yang paling berpengaruh adalah pekerjaan ibu (OR=7,6), pendapatan keluarga (OR=4,8), dan pemberian MPASI (OR=4,0). Kesimpulan: Faktor dominan yang berhubungan dengan kejadian stunting pada balita adalah pekerjaan ibu, setelah dikontrol pendapatan keluarga, pemberian MPASI, frekuensi minum susu, konsumsi susu, dan usia mulai minum susu. Saran: Meningkatkan program “Isi Piringku” dengan membuat menu makanan yang bergizi untuk balita disesuaikan ketersediaan pangan dan status sosial ekonomi warga. Sandra Fikawati, MPH Background: Stunting is a chronic malnutrition problem that affects many children in Indonesia. Pagedangan district has a high number of malnourished children. An important factor in children's growth is nutritional intake. Complementary foods that given after a 6-month-old toddler must be diverse and adequate, so that it meets growth needs. Unfortunately, in Indonesia it is difficult to achieve sufficient nutritional intake from complementary foods which is generally traditional and not fortified. The purpose of study was to determine correlation between complementary feeding and the incidence of stunting in children aged 24 months. Methods: The study was conducted with case control design and sample ratio of 1: 1.5. The study was conducted from March to May 2019. The population was children aged 24 months. A total sample of 100 children. Results: The results of bivariate analysis showed that there was a significant correlation between complementary feeding (p=0.033) and maternal occupation (p=0.040) with the incidence of stunting. The results of multivariate analysis showed the most influential variables were maternal occupation (OR = 7.6), family income (OR = 4.8), and complementary feeding (OR = 4.0). Conclusion: The dominant factor associated with the incidence of stunting in children aged 24 months is maternal occupation, after controlled family income, complementary feeding, frequency of drinking milk, milk consumption, and age start drinking milk. Suggestion: Improving the program "Fill my plate" by making nutritious food menus for toddlers adjusted for food availability and socio-economic status of the residents. Picky eating or picky eating behavior is a condition where a child refuses to eat, or has difficulty consuming food and drink. The prevalence of picky eating in Indonesia is still quite large (45.5%). Children with picky eating behavior are also commonly found in big cities, one of which is in Jakarta, with a prevalence of 33.6%. Eating difficulties in children that are allowed to occur for a long time will cause several negative impacts, such as dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, vitamin and mineral deficiencies, and nutritional deficiencies. The tendency for picky eating behavior is closely related to the way parents feed their children, parenting patterns, nutritional knowledge, parents' income, and food availability. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between these factors and picky eating behavior, which was carried out using quantitative methods and a cross-sectional study design. This study uses primary data from filling out online questionnaires involving 127 respondents who are mothers of children aged 2-5 years who live in DKI Jakarta. The results showed that there are 27.6% of children aged 2-5 years in DKI Jakarta who have picky eating behavior and it can be concluded that there is a relationship between a history of implementing responsive feeding and picky eating behavior (p-value = 0.016). Other variables that were significantly related (p-value < 0.05) were parenting patterns, nutritional knowledge, and food availability. Meanwhile, there was no significant relationship (p-value > 0.05) between parents' income and picky eating behavior. Thus, parents are expected to pay attention to these factors to be able to prevent and overcome the incidence of picky eating in children.
