Distress is a form of negative stress caused by adverse events that can lead to a decline in work performance. The electricity sector involves high complexity and risk in its business processes, making workers in this sector more vulnerable to experiencing distress, as indicated by previous studies and preliminary observations. This study aims to describe and analyze the relationship between risk factors and the level of distress among workers at PT X in the electricity sector. A mixed-method approach with a cross-sectional design was employed. Quantitative data were obtained through questionnaires and analyzed using the chi-square test, while qualitative data were collected through interviews and analyzed thematically. The risk factors examined include individual factors (age, length of employment, marital status), work-related factors (workload and work pace, organizational role, career development, interpersonal relationships, home-work interface), non-work-related factors (domestic-family demands), and buffering factors (social support). The results of the descriptive analysis indicated that 70.6% of workers experienced moderate stress, 27.2% experienced severe stress, and 2.2% experienced mild stress. Inferential analysis showed that only the variable career development (p = 0.021) had a significant relationship with the level of distress, with an odds ratio (OR) value of 2.457, indicating that workers with negative perceptions of career development were 2.457 times more likely to experience distress.
Shift and on-call workers in the electricity sector have a high risk of experiencing fatigue, which impacts cognitive function, productivity, health and safety. This fatigue is influenced by work-related risk factors (on-call system, work shift, work period, workload) and non-work-related risk factors (age, sleep, nutritional status, side job, married status, disease history). The purpose of this study was to analyze the risk factors for fatigue in shift and on-call workers. The study used a cross sectional design with mixed methods. Quantitative data were obtained from 98 respondents using OFER, PSQI, NASA-TLX questionnaires, height and weight measurements, and supported by qualitative data through open interviews. The results of this study showed that workload was significantly associated with acute fatigue (p = 0.027; OR = 2.703) and chronic fatigue (p = 0.034; OR = 2.618). In addition, sleep quantity (p = 0.035; OR = 3.906) and married status (p = 0.003; OR = 4.354) had significant associations with acute fatigue. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of implementing fatigue management and increasing self-awareness in managing fatigue.
risiko terkait pekerjaan (durasi kerja, masa kerja, beban kerja, waktu istirahat, waktu
Fatigue is a multifactorial problem experienced by workers in the manufacturing sector and has an impact on work accidents, health, and the economy. This study aims to analyze the risk factors associated with fatigue in sales workers of manufacturing companies at PT X in 2025. The risk factors studied include work-related risk factors (duration of work, length of service, workload, rest time, commuting time, and work environment) and non work-related risk factors (age, nutritional status, sleep quantity, sleep quality, alcohol consumption, and caffeine consumption). This study used a cross-sectional study design conducted from February to June 2025. Data were collected through online questionnaires, including individual and job characteristics questionnaires, OFER, PSQI, NASA-TLX, and perceptions of work environment. 136 respondent data analyzed using descriptive and inferential analysis with the chi-square test. The results of the analysis showed that 56.6% of workers experienced chronic fatigue and 79.4% acute fatigue. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between work-related risk factors, namely work period (p value = 0.047), noisy work environment (p value = 0.033) and non-work-related risk factors, namely sleep quality (p value = 0.044) with chronic fatigue. The results also showed that there was a significant relationship between work-related risk factors, namely workload (p value = 0.033) with fatigue recovery.
The hazard of psychosocial factors as interactions between or among the work environment, job content, organizational conditions and worker capacities, needs, culture, and personal considerations of workers can affect health, job performance, and job satisfaction through perceptions and experiences. The response due to psychosocial factors is the stress response which can be a negative stress response or distress. On preliminary study at PT. X has found various psychosocial problems and various complaints related to distress. This study aims to determine the relationship of various psychosocial factors with distress in workers at PT. X. This research is quantitative research with a cross-sectional design. The research was conducted on workers at PT. X in September 2021 to December 2021. The total population in this study was 112 workers, and the instrument used was a questionnaire. The statistical test used is the correlation test. The results showed that there was a relationship between psychosocial factors in the work environment (p-value = 0.000), organizational function and culture (p-value = 0.007), role conflict (p-value = 0.005), interpersonal relationships (p-value = 0.042), and home-work interface (p-value = 0.000) with distress. Then, there is no relationship between psychosocial factors of work culture (p-value = 0.103), role ambiguity (p-value = 0.621), career development (p-value = 0.362), and job control (p-value = 303) with distress. The results of the multiple linear regression test showed that the most dominant psychosocial factor influencing the difficulty was the work environment
Occupational safety is a crucial aspect of company operations, especially in the electricity sector which carries a high level of risk. This study aims to examine the relationship between safety leadership and safety perception on safety behavior among workers at the PT X site in 2025. A semi-quantitative approach was employed using a survey method with questionnaires completed by 87 respondents. Data were analyzed using Spearman and Pearson correlation tests. The results indicate a positive and significant relationship between safety leadership and safety behavior (r = 0.227; p = 0.035), as well as between safety leadership and safety perception (r = 0.579; p = 0.000). However, no significant relationship was found between safety perception and safety behavior (r = 0.149; p = 0.169). These findings suggest that safety leadership plays an important role in shaping workers’ safety behavior, both directly and indirectly through safety perception. Interviews with key persons also support the conclusion that leadership engagement and role modeling are key drivers of a positive safety culture. The study recommends that the company improve the effectiveness of safety leadership through targeted training, active leadership involvement, and continuous evaluation of safety programs. Future research is encouraged to explore other variables that may mediate or moderate the relationships among these constructs.
MSDs is closely associated with those who works office job as they spent most of their time sitting in the same position. At PT X, MSDs complaints frequently occurred, however, no ergonomic assessments have been conducted since September 2021. This study aims to get the general level of MSDs complaints among office workers at PT X and to examine whetere there is a relationship between the level of MSDs complaints and individual risk factors (age, gender, physical activity, and BMI) as well as working postures. The correlation between variables were tested using the Spearman correlation test. BMI was found to have a significant relationship with MSDs with a p-value of 0.018 and a correlation coefficient of -0.41 that indicates a moderate negative relationships. This outcome suggests that those with higher BMI, have a lower likelihood to experience MSDs
