Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are very common and still a public health problem worldwide. Syphilis is an STI caused by Treponema pallidum, which can be transmitted through sexual contact or from mother to child during pregnancy. Many studies have been revealed that syphilis promotes the transmission of HIV and both infections can stimulate and interact with each other. Recently there have been epidemics of syphilis in certain countries of the world especially in high risk groups. Long-distance truck drivers is a bridge transmission of syphilis from high risk to general population. Often the infected person does not realize that he has been infected and only can be detected by serological tests. If left untreated, may caused complications such cardiovascular and neurological. During pregnancy, syphilis may contribute to stillbirth, preterm delivery, and early fetal death.
The objective of this study was to indentify factors associated with syphilis infection among long-distance truck drivers in 4 municipalities (Deli Serdang, Lampung Selatan, Batang and Denpasar). This study disign is a cross sectional study using IBBS 2011 data with 1492 participants. The prevalence of syphilis was 5,8%.
In multivariate analysis, syphilis infection was associated with older age (≥ 35 years old) and age at first sex (< 18 years old) with POR respectively 2,63 and 1,79. After modelling with logistic regression, fit model of syphilis predictors include older age (≥ 35 years old), age at first sex (< 18 years old) dan HIV infection.

Sexual risk behavior HIV/AIDS among MSM can be influenced by prevention and misconception knowledge of HIV/AIDS. This study aims to determine the relations about knowledge of HIV/AIDS and sexual risk behavior HIV/AIDS among MSM in 3 cities (Yogyakarta, Tangerang, Makassar) in Indonesia on 2013. This study used cross sectional design by using data IBBS 2013. Samples in this study were 343 MSM in 3 cities in Indonesia meet the criteria inclusion and exclusion and analyzed by univariate, bivariate, and stratification. Form the result, the percentage were 16% MSM have high risk of sexual risk behavior, 30.9% MSM have prevention and misconception knowledge less, 52.5% MSM >24 years, 48 % MSM less participate in the health services HIV/AIDS, 51% MSM less of source information. Based on analysis bivariate relationships with sexual risk behavior HIV/AIDS less having knowledge HIV/AIDS (PR = 2.0; 95%CI 1.2-3.2), age ≤ 24 years (PR= 1.7; 95%CI 1.0-2.7), less participate in the health program (PR= 2.0; 95%CI 1.2-3.4), less get media source information (PR= 0.6; 95%CI 0.4-1.0). Stratification results of the strata on the variables of covariate variable have higher PR on MSM aged >24 years (PR= 2.14; 95%CI 0.98-4.66), MSM less follow the program health service (PR = 2.10; 95%CI 1.17-3.77), and MSM got a better media source information (PR= 2.05; 95%CI 1.11-3.77). It is therefore advisable to improve program IPP back, give education in according by age, and provide a source of information that is more effective and massive.

Recent study showed that high blood pressure is a major cause of male sexual dysfunction. However, how hypertension affects women sexual function was not understood. This study aims to investigate the relationship between hypertension and FSD. We conducted a cross-sectional study in a private primary healthcare clinic, in Serang City, Banten Province from August-September 2019. All women aged 18 years or older, at least elementary school graduated, had sexual activities during the last 4 weeks were recruited. Patient sexual function was assessed by the Indonesian validated Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI-I). Sexual dysfunction (SD) was defined if the total FSFI-I score was < 26.55. Modified cox-regression performed to evaluate the association between hypertension and SD. A total of 442 women were included in this study with a response rate of 86.3%. A total of 91.67% women with hypertension (121/132) in this study had FSD and a total of 72.9% women without hypertension (226/310) had FSD. Hypertension increased the proportion of FSD with an aPR 1.76 (95% CI: 1.20-2.60). FSD is a common problem and the prevalence increase in women with hypertension. Holistic approach management in hypertension needs to be done including the assessment of sexual function in women with hypertension.
ABSTRACT STDs prevalence is high in the WPSL. This study aims to determine the relationship the consistency of condom use in the last month with the incidence of sexually transmitted infections in female sex workers directly (WPSL). This study uses crosssectional study design. Data is collected secondary data results of Integrated Biological and Behavioral Survey in 2011. Population is female direct sex workers (WPSL) in West Java province. Number of sample is 500 respondents. The study found that the prevalence of sexually transmitted infections in female sex workers directly (WPSL) by 21% most of the WPSL is inconsistent use of condoms 76%. The results of bivariate analysis showed that there was no significant relationship between the consistency of condom use with the incidence of STI OR 1:14 (95% CI 0.66; 2.3). Increase particularly the consistent use of condoms and increased opportunities to use condoms.
