Stunting is a public health problem that needs to be addressed both in Indonesia and the World. The real impact of this problem is hampered motor development, mental growth and increased risk of morbidity and death. One of the risk factors for stunting in children is the lack of nutritional intake of infants, especially exclusive breastfeeding. This study aims to determine the relationship between exclusive breastfeeding with stunting in toddlers aged 12-36 months in Tamansari sub-district, Bogor district, 2019. The research design used was cross-sectional using primary data. The sample in this study amounted to 500 toddlers obtained by Proportional Random Sampling. This research was conducted in July 2019. Data collection was carried out by measuring height, body length, interviews with questionnaires and food recall. Stunting status was assessed based on the TB / U indicator <-2 z-score. The analysis used in this study uses multivariate cox regression analysis and the magnitude of the effect is expressed in the prevalence ratio (PR) with a 95% confident interval (CI). The results showed that the prevalence of stunting in toddlers aged 12-36 months in Tamansari sub-district, Bogor district in 2019 was 39.2%. The results of multivariate analysis showed that toddlers who were not given exclusive breastfeeding had a chance of 1.37 (95% CI: 1.03-1.83) times stunting compared to toddlers who were given exclusive breastfeeding after being controlled by maternal education and toddler calorie intake. It is necessary to improve maternal education at least high school and to provide toddlers food intake that is high in energy and protein and affordable by the community.
The incidence of hypertension continues to increase in Jakarta Province where in 2021 there were 365,901 incidents of hypertension. Then, it increased in 2022 to 469,921 incidents and increased again in 2023 to reach 580,393 incidents. One of the risk factors for hypertension is the concentration of air pollutants. Jakarta Province itself is known as the 4th most polluted area in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the relationship between air pollutant factors (PM10, PM2.5, SO2, CO, O3, and NO2) with the incidence of hypertension in Jakarta Province in 2021 - 2023. This study used an ecological study research design with an analysis unit of five administrative cities in Jakarta Province using secondary data. Data analysis uses a correlation test, which is displayed in tables and graphs. The results showed that PM2.5 concentration had a significant negative relationship with the incidence of hypertension. Meanwhile, the concentrations of PM10, SO2, CO, O3, and NO2 show no significant relationship with the incidence of hypertension in Jakarta Province in 2021-2023.
Introduction: Pulmonary tuberculosis is a chronic infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis and is the leading cause of death from infectious diseases worldwide. Indonesia ranks second among countries with the highest TB burden. Bogor Regency had the highest number of TB cases in West Java in 2023. Objective: To determine the correlation between healthcare service factors and individual factors with the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in 20 sub-districts of Bogor Regency during 2023 – 2024. Methods: This study employed an ecological study design, with a sample of 20 sub-districts in Bogor Regency. Secondary data were obtained from the Bogor Regency Health Office and the Bogor Regency Central Bureau of Statistics. Results: The variable that showed a significant relationship with the incidence of pulmonary TB were treatment coverage in Bogor Regency (p = 0,000; r = 0,978), as well as treatment success rate in Leuwiliang sub-district (p = 0,004; r = 0,696), Kemang (p = 0,036; r = -0,543), and Jasinga (p = 0,038; r = -0,540). There was no significant correlation between the incidence rate and age or gender proportion (p>0,05). Conclusion: The Bogor Regency Health Office is advised to evaluate case-finding methods, strengthen TB reporting by health facilities, conduct education on the importance of completing treatment, and enhance interventions targeting at-risk groups.
Waste management facility based on reuse, reduce, and recycle principles or tempat pengolahan sampah reuse, reduce, and recylce (TPS 3R) workers are a high-risk occupational group for work-related diseases such as diarrhea due to frequent direct contact with waste. This study aims to examine the relationship between individual characteristics, personal hygiene, and environmental conditions with the incidence of diarrhea among TPS 3R workers in DKI Jakarta Province. A cross-sectional quantitative design was employed involving 62 respondents from 12 TPS 3R sites. Data were collected through questionnaires and observations and analyzed using chi-square tests. The results showed significant associations between diarrhea incidence and work duration (p=0.033; OR=5.077; 95% CI: 1.138–22.650), use of personal protective equipment (PPE) (p=0.004; OR=0.150; 95% CI: 0.042–0.541), and the presence of disease vectors (p=0.038; OR=3.600; 95% CI: 1.075–12.059). Meanwhile, variables such as age, gender, education level, and several indicators of personal hygiene and environmental conditions showed no significant associations. These findings highlight the importance of promoting protective equipment usage and vector control as key measures to prevent diarrhea among TPS 3R workers.
In addition to morbidity and mortality are high, financing catastrophic diseases(kidney failure, cardiovascular disease, cancer, thalassemia and hemophilia) thatabsorb very high cost should be a serious concern. The study aims to analyze thecost of catastrophic diseases based on the characteristics of participants.Quantitative research analytical uses claims data in the form of data BPJSparticipants and costs in 2014 amounted to 309 301 claims. The analysis showedsignificant difference in the average cost of catastrophic illness according tolength of stay, classes and class hospital care. Promotive, preventive and diseasemanagement of patients need to be improved to achieve cost effectiveness andefficiency of health care in ensuring the sustainability of national health insuranceprogram.Key words:Catastrophic diseases, hospital expenses, characteristic of participant, promotive, preventive and disease management.
