Exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) is proven to be the best food a mother can give to her child during the first 6 months. The low prevalence of EBF in Indonesia needs to be a concern given the many health risk of not breastfeeding exclusively, such as delayed growth, threatened health, and infant mortality. Various factors were found to be determinants in the practice of exclusive breastfeeding. This study was conducted to identify the dominant factor associated with 6-month EBF among children aged 6-23 months in Indonesia. The design used in this study is cross-sectional using IFLS-5 2014-2015 as a secondary data with a sample of 1550 children aged 6-23 months. Data were analyzed using chi square test dan multiple logistic regression test. The result found the prevalence of 5-month EBF was 24,9%. Bivariate analysis found several factors that were significantly related to EBF, which are maternal age, maternal education, birth weight, place of delivery, birth attendant, and ANC visits. The factors of employment status, marital status, parity, knowledge related to EBF, gender, area of residence, and PNC visits were not found to be significantly related to EBF practice in this study. The result of multivariate analysis showed maternal age as the dominant factor of EBF practice in mothers with children aged 6-23 months in Indonesia with an OR of 2,13. This study shows that optimizing breastfeeding practices at reproductive age can increase the success of 6-month EBF up to 2,1 times. Wasting is a form of acute malnutrition in children assessed using the Weight-for-Length indicator for ages 0-23 months and the Weight-for-Height indicator for ages 24-59 months. Children with wasting may experience impaired growth and development processes as well as an increased risk of mortality. Based on the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (Survei Kesehatan Indonesia/SKI), the prevalence of wasting in South Kalimantan reached 13,8%. This prevalence is higher than the national prevalence, which reached 9,2%. This study was conducted to identify the dominant factors associated with the incidence of wasting among children aged 0-23 months in South Kalimantan Province using a cross-sectional study design. The data used were from the 2023 SKI, with a sample size of 640 children aged 0-23 months who had complete data based on the survey results. The independent variables examined in this study were risk factors for wasting from various aspects, including child characteristics and health history, history of infectious diseases, food intake, parenting practices, parental and family factors, as well as sanitation and environmental factors. The frequency distribution of each variable was analyzed univariately, followed by bivariate analysis using the chi-square test, and multivariate analysis using multiple logistic regression. The results showed that the prevalence of wasting among children aged 0-23 months in South Kalimantan Province in 2023 reached 13.3%. This study found that the father's education level was a variable significantly associated with the incidence of wasting. The dominant factor associated with the incidence of wasting among children aged 0-23 months in South Kalimantan Province in 2023 was sex (aOR 3.28, 95% CI 1.178-9.152).
Hypertension is defined as a persistent increase in blood pressure, with systolic values ≥140 mmHg and/or diastolic values ≥90 mmHg, based on the average of two or more blood pressure measurements. The prevalence of hypertension in Central Kalimantan Province is the highest in Indonesia, at 40.7%. This study aims to determine related factors and dominant factors related to hypertension in the population aged 25-44 years in Central Kalimantan Province. A cross-sectional design was used, utilizing data from the 2023 Indonesia Health Survey (SKI 2023). Data analysis included univariate analysis using frequency distribution, bivariate analysis using the chi-square test, and multivariate analysis using multiple logistics regression. The results showed that out of 4,929 samples, 35.7% had hypertension. The factors significantly associated with the incidence of hypertension among individuals aged 25–44 years in Central Kalimantan Province include age, educational background, employment status, obesity, and central obesity. Fruit consumption is the dominant factor after being controlled by consumption of vegetables and consumption of processed foods preserved as confounders. Individuals who never consumed fruit in the past week had a 7.4 times higher risk of hypertension, while those who consumed less fruit (
