Background: Unmet need for family planning remains a reproductive health challenge, as it is associated with an increased risk of unintended pregnancy and adverse maternal and child health outcomes. Based on the 2017 IDHS, the national prevalence of unmet need for family planning was 10.6%, while in South Sumatra Province it was 8.6%. Although lower than the national figure, studies specifically examining the determinants of unmet need among women of reproductive age in South Sumatra Province using a multivariable approach remain very limited, so the dominant factors at the provincial level are not yet well understood. Objective: To analyze the determinants of unmet need for family planning among women of reproductive age in South Sumatra Province using data from the 2017 IDHS. Methods: This study used secondary data from the 2017 IDHS with a cross-sectional design among women of reproductive age in South Sumatra Province who met the inclusion criteria. Age was categorized into 15–24, 25–34, and 35–49 years, while the number of living children was categorized into ≤2 and >2 children. The outcome variable was unmet need for family planning. Data were analyzed using univariate, bivariate (chi-square test), and multivariable logistic regression analyses. Results: The prevalence of unmet need for family planning was 8.6%. Bivariate analysis showed that age, number of living children, and husband's approval of family planning use were significantly associated with unmet need. After adjustment, women with >2 living children had 2.05 times higher odds of unmet need than those with ≤2 children (aOR=2.05; 95% CI 1.12–3.78). Women whose husband’s approved of family planning use had 0.15 times the odds (i.e., 6.5 times lower odds) of unmet need compared to those whose husband’s did not approve (aOR=0.15; 95% CI 0.05–0.45), making it the most dominant factor. Age was no longer significantly associated after adjustment. Conclusion: Unmet need for family planning among women of reproductive age in South Sumatra Province is more strongly determined by reproductive factors and spousal support than by sociodemographic characteristics. These findings suggest that strategies to reduce unmet need should prioritize strengthening husband’s involvement in family planning decision-making and providing contraceptive counseling that accounts for women's reproductive history, rather than relying solely on demographic-based interventions.

Pendahuluan: .
Introduction: Mortality and morbidity in pregnant and childbirth women are a major problem in developing countries still at unmet need, which is to be expected to contribute toward the gradual decline in maternal mortality (aki), where the birth control program is one of the aki decline. The unmet need for KB in 2017 is still at the same number as sdki 2012, which is 11 percent. Aki can be caused by an unwanted pregnancy by the mother. An unwanted pregnancy may lead mothers to unsafe practices in health services such as abortion. Method: this study USES a quantitative approach with a design for a sectional study. Analysis with a complex of specimen analysis with three stages: univariate, bivarat and multivariate. Results: factors related to unmet need birth control are age, education, home territory. Work, knowledge, the ideal number of children, availability of services, media exposure while visiting factors are less significant with unmet need. The decision of husbands is the most influential factor in Indonesia's unmet need. Conclusion: the most dominant factor in the unmet need KB status on fertile women in Indonesia using 2017 resources data is the husband's approval factor. This factor indicates that 6.92 times greater risk of status unmet need than that of unmet need with respondents who are not making a husband. It's being controlled by variables, work, the ideal number of children, birth control. keywords: unmet need, family planning, IDHS

The prevalence of modern contraceptive use is an indicator of the success of the family planning program, which functions as a strategy to control the population and support the accelerated reduction in maternal mortality, unwanted pregnancies, and abortion, however the achievements are still relatively low. The aim of this research is to analyze the determinants of modern contraceptive use among women of childbearing age on the island of Sumatera. This type of research is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional research design, using secondary data from the 2017 Indonesian Health Demographic Survey (IDHS). The study sample consisted of 5276 respondents. Data analysis used logistic regression statistical test. The results of the analysis showed that the percentage of use of modern contraceptive methods among WUS on the island of Sumatra was 85%. However, the types of long-term contraception are still low, namely IUDs (4.1%) and implants (10.1%), the most common being the use of 3-month injections (36.7%). The results of the multivariate analysis show that the factors that influence the use of modern contraceptive methods are education, work status, knowledge about family planning, place of residence, husband's support and support from health workers. With the dominant factor, namely husband's support, there is a 3.35 times chance of using modern contraceptive methods. To increase coverage of modern contraceptive use the government needs to improve services and develop effective IEC strategies for WUS and their partners.

Sexually transmitted infections are the gateway to HIV infection. Based on the results of previous studies in 2013, new STI cases were found (9%) in adolescent girls (10-19 years). to (32.53%) in 2013. In 2018 it was found (15%) STI cases at RSCM consisted of children aged (12-22 years). This study aims to find factors associated with the risk of sexually transmitted infections in women of childbearing age (15-24 years) in Indonesia. This study used a cross-sectional design with a sample of 4,240 women aged (15-24 years). Data were obtained from the 2017 Indonesian Health Demographic Survey and analyzed using cox regression multivariate analysis. Multivariate cox regression analysis showed that female adolescents with poor knowledge predicted the risk of STIs in adolescents. The main predictor was knowledge of adolescents (PR 1.489; p: 0.000, CI 1.243-1.783) which means that women who have poor knowledge about STIs are at risk of getting STIs by 1.489 times compared to women who have good knowledge. Eliminating sexual stigma is taboo and limited to married couples and the promotion of condom contraception needs to be increased so that women get better information about the impact and prevention of contracting STIs.

Indonesia continues to experience dynamic development. Indonesia is the 4th most populous country in the world, namely 275 million people. Family planning is an effort to control the number of children born, spacing and ideal birth ages. The Long Term Contraceptive Method (MKJP) is the method that is considered the most effective in preventing pregnancy. The rate of use of long-term contraceptive methods (MKJP) in Indonesia in 2017 was 13.4%. Banten province has the lowest MKJP participation rate at 7.4% followed by Aceh province at 7.7%. Several provinces also experienced a decrease in the use of MKJP, such as Riau Province in 2017 8.3% while in 2012 it was 8.5%, Yogyakarta Special Region Province in 2017 18.6% and in 2012 21.1%. Health information media is to increase awareness of a cause or topic by disseminating relevant data and information to a wide audience. Internet use at home reached 78.18% in 2020. The aim of this research was to determine the relationship between access to information media and the use of long-term contraception methods among women of childbearing age in Indonesia. This study used a cross-sectional design with a sample of women of reproductive age who were married and used long-term contraceptive methods who were selected as respondents in the 2017 IDHS and met the inclusion and exclusion criteria of 18,263 respondents. The research results show that there is a relationship between access to information media and the use of long-term contraceptive methods (p value <0.001). Women of childbearing age who had access to information media as many as 3,188 respondents (25.5%) were 1.2 times more likely to use MKJP (95% CI: 1.1-1.8) compared to women of childbearing age who did not have access to information media.
