Low birth weight is defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as birth weight less than 2500 g. Babies with low birth weight (LBW) increase the morbidity and mortality doubled compared to babies born with a body weight of 2500 g or more (Gopalan, 2018). Low birth weight is a significant public health problem globally and is associated with a series of short and long-term consequences (WHO, 2014). The main risk factors associated with the high incidence of LBW are demographic factors, chronic pre-pregnancy disease, nutritional status of pregnant women, complications in pregnancy, and pregnancy examination status (Committee on Prevention of Low Birth Weight, 1985; Gopalan, 2018). The method used in this study is cross sectional with a case control approach. This study uses cox regression analysis with the results of measuring prevalence ratio (PR). The results of this study found that there was a significant relationship between preeclampsia and the incidence of LBW with p value = 0,000 (<0,05), PR adjusted 1,497 (CI 95% 1,207-1,846). after being controlled by covariate variables. The incidence of LBW associated with the handling of severe cases of preeclampsia and eclampsia requires active action, namely immediate termination of pregnancy regardless of gestational age and the estimated body weight of the fetus so that it can give birth to babies with low birth weight. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor health personnel for mothers who experience complications in their pregnancy, especially those who have high blood pressure in their pregnancy so that they can be treated early and conservative care so that the incidence of LBW can be prevented
The highest incidence of violence is domestic violence, women who have an attitude of disapproval of violence are able to fight and report acts of violence committed by their husbands. Attitudes towards wives towards violence are influenced by individual, family and community factors. This study aims to determine the factors related to the attitudes of wives towards violence against husbands in household in Indonesia. This study used secondary data from the 2017 Indonesian Health Demographic Survey (IDHS) with a cross sectional study design. The number of samples was 19,418 people. The results of this study indicate that out of 19,418 women aged 15-49 years in Indonesia, 71.1% of wives have a disagreement with husband's violence. Women who have a disagreement attitude are influenced by factors of age, education, area of residence, economic status and number of children. Education has a great influence with an OR value of 1.5 mothers with higher education have more disagreement with husband's violence than mothers who have low education. The problem of violence can be resolved by campaigning the issue of domestic violence to the community which is carried out intensively with a pattern of approaching individuals, families, community groups and according to the culture of the local community
Stigma against abortion has limited the study of abortion in several countries including Indonesia. This study aims to get a picture of the structural determinants of women who had abortion. This study utilized data from community-based survey of 8,969 randomly selected women aged 15-49 in six provinces in Java. Structural Equation Modeling Analysis was used to get an overview of the structural determinants of women who had abortion based on the concept of Integrated Behavioral Model Theory. Model fit with RMSEA value = 0.037; CFI = 0.924, and SRMR = 0.048. Intention shows the biggest direct effect on abortion. The experience of physical and sexual violence, the attitude toward the impact of ending pregnancy, and lack of contraception knowledge have a direct effect on increasing the intention to have an abortion. Reducing contraceptive failure rates and increasing the use of LARC will reduce unwanted pregnancies and abortion incidence. Communication program, increasing awareness of the dangers and impacts, community participation, and social media need to be increased in efforts to prevent and overcome the problem of IPV.
Introduction: Babies with LBW are 4 times more likely to die during the first 28 days
of life than babies born with normal weight. In Indonesia, LBW is the second largest
type of disease related to tobacco use where the impact is a very determining factor in
adulthood. More than 57% in a household has at least one smoker where 91.8% smoke
in the household and ignore the risks and dangers of exposure to cigarette smoke.
Method: This research was conducted in all regions of Indonesia using Riskesdas 2018
results with the aim of knowing the effect of exposure to cigarette smoke in the
household on the incidence of Low Birth Weight (LBW) in Indonesia after being
controlled by baby (sex), maternal factors (level maternal education, maternal
employment status, and tuberculosis to the mother), health service factors (frequency
and quality of ANC) and environmental factors (residential area). This research was
conducted with cross-sectional design and logistic and poisson regression analysis.
Result: The results of the study with the final model of smoking behavior interacting
with gender and controlled by variables of maternal education level and frequency of
ANC in general showed that there was no effect of cigarette smoke exposure in
households with LBW events (although p value in female sex with exposure cigarette
smoke b 20btg less than 0.05, but OR 0.056 or protective).
Discussion: Based on the results of this study and a few reviews of the results of the
research that are in line concluded that birth weight is not solely influenced by a history
of exposure to cigarette smoke, but in certain conditions there are other factors that may
be more dominant. In this case it might be due to several factors such as the way data is
collected based only on interviews / questionnaires so that the measurement of cigarette
smoke exposure in the household is less able to describe the actual situation (the
measurement results are weak).
Conclution: Based on the analysis that has been used both using logistic regression
methods and poisson is that the results of this study have not been able to answer the
hypothesis that the effect of cigarette smoke exposure in households increases the
incidence of LBW in Indonesia in 2018 even after being controlled by covariate
variables
The number of Indonesian sdolescence aged 10-24 years according to BPS 2018 is around 25 % of the total population in Indonesia. Adolescence is very vulnerable to various health problems, especially those originating from risky sexual sexual behavior. This study aims to look at the impact of the Posyadu Remaja program on Tengger Adolescent Reproductive Health in Tosari, East Java. This research is a quantitative research with cross sectional approach. The sample size in this study was 233 respondents of adolescents aged 10-24 years, divided into two groups, namely; 72 respondents attend the Posyandu Remaja routinely while 161 respondents do not take the Posyandu Remaja. Multivariate analysis results show that variables related to knowledge are age, education and information sources of health workers. Variables related to attitude are knowledge, information sources from posyandu remaja, teachers and parents. Variables related to high-risk sexual behavior are attitude variables, sources of information from parents or family, age, level of education and level of knowledge. Attitude is the most dominant variable with high risk sexual behavior p value = 0.001 (OR: 17.68, 95% CI: 4.36 - 71.70). In this study, Posyandu Adolescents are not related to adolescent knowledge, attitudes or sexual behavior. Increasing the capacity of youth cadres through training and coaching is important to be done to optimize the program.
